I ordered the bright green and pink version of this keyboard skin. The colors are very vibrant and really pop against the Space Gray MacBook Pro. It's pretty . . . but that's about where my admiration ends. The skin did not adequately line up with the keyboard and it obstructed the backlight - especially the little light for the caps lock. I figured I could adjust to something that seems so minor, but I gave up after too many typos from not being able to tell whether the caps was on. (Who knew that the little green light for this key mattered so much? I didn't even realize that I actually rely on it.) Additionally, I found that quite a few of the shortcuts listed on the skin were not working as intended. Overall, it's nice looking and will offer protection to your keyboard - which seems pretty important for the latest MacBook models that are experiencing issues with specks of dust rendering the keyboard unusable. But, if you actually are looking for it to be functional too (with backlight and relevant shortcuts), I would suggest trying another skin. ... show more

i loved the colors, but it kept sliding off, so i returned it. Update: I changed the rating from a 2 to a 1 and if there was a zero, I would rate this product a zero. In addition to this sliding off, some of my keys stopped working; letters m, j,u, the semicolon, the ' and number 7. I was hoping it was just a quick fix glitch, and a $6 product didn't mess up my computer, but that was not the case. The keys started sticking after having this thing on top of my keyboard I bought this product around April/May 2018 and returned it shortly after. Then I bought a wireless Apple Keyboard off of Amazon bcz I knew that fixing my keyboard would be more expensive. The wireless keyboard is okay, but I need my keyboard back. I just dropped my laptop off at the Apple store like 10 mins ago and it will be $428 to fix. Additionally, I won't have my laptop for four days. Don't let a $6 or $7 product end up costing you over $400 in repairs like I did. This really blows! ... show more

Not good at night with lights off because does not allow show through of lit keys and you can only barely make out the keyboard cover letters from the screen light.It is well made and fits perfectly, and lays flat perfectly, but I would not buy again because it is useless with lights out. The shortcuts are a good feature and I had hoped to learn them by frequent use, but I will probably replace it before that happens. ... show more

When I purchased my hard case for my MacBook Air (2017 model), I received a free keyboard skin. I hated it. It was rubbery feeling. I wanted to try another brand of skin. I'm also new to Macs, so when I found this one, I was very excited. It feels nice to the touch, fits perfectly, and the shortcuts will certainly come in handy. Purchased a Mac to add services for my editing and formatting clients. This keyboard skin is great for protecting my investment. I have already recommended this skin to others. I spent an entire day looking through different keyboard covers, until I found this one. Being a cute keyboard cover is one thing, the fact that it doubles as a cheat sheet for the short cuts is what sold me. I spent 20 mins trying out every shortcut on this, and it worked. Yes, yes... I tested it first. Why cheat off of someone if the answers are wrong. Girly side note: the color combinations are so attractive. I hope this helps! ... show more

This cover was too thick for my liking. It made keystrokes feel VERY different - too different for me. It also fit a bit awkwardly, CLOSE, but juuuust a tad bit 'not perfect'. When moving a finger and smacking the space bar, it would jostle and lift JUST a bit... and if you're doing that as much as I am right now, it got annoying REAL quick. Kept it a while to see if it 'settled down' or something, but no. Then the font size and usability of the shortcut key notes was totally not usable by me. Mainly because I would have to move my hands completely off the keyboard if I wanted to find a shortcut. :-( Good idea, cute, but just not effective for me. I tried it, returned it... not unhappy with the overall experience. REfund was easy, etc... just didn't work out for me. ... show more

These are great for keeping dust at bay. Second one I've had. Previous one was another brand. Had to order another because after a few years the oils from my fingers were transferring to my screen when computer closed. Probably could have cleaned it but was starting to stretch and simple to just buy another. I've had this one for about 5-6 months & it hasn't stretched out. Still fits, even with frequent removal to shake the dust off. I have a cat and frequently notice hair stuck to it. But, just taking it off and shaking it works well. I'm a teacher and on the computer all the time right now. No fading of the letters at all. Thought I would refer to the shortcuts noted on the keys more, but I don't. Still a fun addition, though. Got the grey/pink/blue coloring and love it. Very pleased with this purchase. Many questions from others about it! ... show more

    • Perfect fit for my older MacBook Air A1466 ...

I've been using a keyboard protector since that fateful day when my cat bumped my hand which held a cup of coffee which ended up splashing onto my MacBook Pro, effectively killing the machine. Lesson learned! This is the best one I've had so far. Much "heavier" than others I've used in the past which tended to wear out after about 6 months of use -- printing essentially erased, holes developed in the most-used key covers, etc. This one is definitely thicker so it should last longer. I've had no issues with keys lining up: the keys-lock light is visible, backlighting isn't obscured -- really, just about perfect. I especially like the color-coded key combo shortcuts -- although I will admit that I have to switch to my high-octane reading glasses as my older eyes have trouble reading the tiny print. Overall, however, this is a very good keyboard cover and works perfectly with the older MacBook Air. Solid 5 stars. ... show more
