Flat bottom can be used for roasting, baking, and can be placed on stovetops. Not Induction compatible. Works on gas, electric, glass ceramic, halogen, etc. Oven safe to 500F and dishwasher safe. This is excellent quality. I have purchased large roasting pans in the past (at least a dozen times) but they were all fails or cheaply made. I'm a retired chef so I appreciate workhorse cookware. After being burnt by yet another pan (purchased locally), I scoured this website and took a chance on this one. I LOVE it. It's tough, durable, dishwasher safe, distributes heat well and handled the Thanksgiving turkey with ease. One thing I liked was that the handles don't stick out so the pan fits nicely in the oven. The price is excellent as well. Here's the deal: In cookware I will only use a few times a year, there's no way I'm paying $400 for a high end roaster.. Finally, I have a great roaster. Great quality pan. Heavy duty. Thick. Cooked an 18lb prime rib to perfection Hint. Coat the entire pan including top edges and rack with butter before cooking. Pretty much a nonstick pan after that. Very little clean up.

I've been wanting to get a small roasting pan for years to replace the one my wife inexplicably threw out after the nonstick surface of the rack peeled off. I never found one that I really liked until now. This one doesn't have the sloping sides my old one did but I'll live with that. I decided to go stainless steel instead of nonstick since nonstick just doesn't last. This one (14" x 12") is a good size for everything I might roast including a normal size turkey (no birdzilla for me) and it's just a tad bigger than my old one. I like that the rack has no cross bars on the working area since those intersections are notoriously difficult to clean. I haven't used it yet but plan to soon. It's clear that this is well made and will outlast me. The reason I took off one star was that the first one I received had scratches on the rounded edges of the bottom of the pan. I got a replacement via Amazon in one day and the replacement was pristine. Such a beautiful pan! I can't wait to try it out. ... show more
