The assembled pad seems fine - we our having our hot tub delivered and placed on it soon. But there's a flaw in the pad's design: the screw holes for the dog bone connectors have no hard "stop" and it's easy to run in the screws too far, penetrating the front. Yes, the directions provide a warning and some screw torquing guidance, but we missed them until after the fact. We had two screw protrusions and several close calls. My wife held the pad mid-air as I backed off the offending screws, then we layed the pad down upright. I used a hammer to gently flatten the small screw hole protrusions and caulked them to ensure no leaks. Confer Plastics - if you're reading this, a better solution than a warning is a technical fix to PREVENT the problem: make hard(er) stops for the screws. This could be accomplished with thicker dog bone connector plastic in the screw hole opening or, ideally, an embedded or supplied metal washer.

This pad seems perfect and we followed through putting it down the same way we saw someone else do it. It looks beautiful and only time will tell how the pad holds up, once the hot tub is delivered and filled.

This product works perfectly! It works in place of an expensive concrete pad. Easily assembled and easy to move around for under a hot tub, or in our case a 8x7 Cabana shed. Highly recommend .

I bought a hot tub a month ago and the sales fella said to look into these. I did and I went ahead and ordered them. All I had to do was lay a thin layer of gravel and level it. After that, just screw these together and mission accomplished. When the guys came to install the tub, they noticed what I had put down, and said these things are awesome. I’m very happy with mine and I’m sure you will be too! Very much well worth the money

As numerous reviews have pointed out, and I was naive to think it wouldn’t happen to me, the dog bone connectors are subpar. They fail to properly connect the pads, popping out with the slightest movement. I invested an extra $30 in metal brackets and hardware, securing them over the dog bone connectors along the edges, and that did the trick. After this additional labor, I managed to lift the 8x8 pad and flip it over into position. Given the poor molding/fit of the connectors, I am hopeful, if not skeptical, that this thing will somehow hold the weight of a fully loaded hot tub on clay soil. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to find out for a few more months when I get a tub. Buyer beware! The instructions do mention that the connectors aren’t necessary, and the pads can simply be laid next to each other. However, I preferred to go the extra mile and ensure they’re connected.

These spa pads are fantastic! I purchased a hot tub and found out 3 days before it was delivered that I could not place it on the ground (as the salesman stated). Wanting to protect my investment in the tub long term I knew I had to do something but there was no time (or additional money in the budget) to hire someone to pour a concrete pad. I ordered these pads and they were delivered in two days. I threw some granite gravel and pebbles down in a thin layer on top of the grass, put the spa pad on top and it’s been holding my 8x8 hot tub for the last 5 years. Still going strong. No problems what so ever.
