When it comes to electric kettles, good enough seems to be the only bar that any brand can hit. This one is very nice, good construction and the temperature control seems to work, I still need to use a thermometer to verify how accurate it is. It will definitely boil water, and quickly. The first time I cleaned it, I got some soap suds under the plastic, where it goes into the glass carafe, and you cant really get that out without splashing water up into it to get it clean. Not great, its not like you can take the handle off so you can properly clean it. I would call this not annoying to clean. The opening is big enough for my large hand. The bottom where the heating plate and glass meat, there is a large bead of silicone all the way around. Not sure if there's a pure glass one out there but this isn't it. Overall 8/10 with my limited kettle experience ... show more

I wanted a temperature control pot because I live at over 5000 ft elevation. Water boils at about 203F. Some of the fixed temperature pots have trouble turning off because the water doesn't get hot enough. This is easy to set to 200F and holds the temperature for a while. Perfect for my use. This is a great kettle. Quick to heat water with pre-set temperature settings. Good size and shape and the shape of the handle feels secure to hold and carry even with a kettle full of boiling water. The only thing that could be improved is how much the lid can open. Given that the lid doesn't completely come off, it is a little awkward to fill water in the kettle. The lid only opens to about a 60 degrees, and with the strainer installed it can get tricky to get your kitchen faucet in to fill the kettle up. I had the stainless steel one for 2 years. But with my hard water, it was very hard to see inside to notice when it needed cleaning. Now I have the glass one. A little difficult to get my hand in there clean. But with a about two tablespoons of a vinegar, every couple of days cleans up very nicely. I finally got stainless steel when completely clean. After letting it sit for a week with CLR and vinegar. That one is my backup. The last one also has a better handle, or I don't burn the outside of my fingers when I grab it. And just for fun I love the light. It heats up very quickly. Only flaw, is when it's still boiling, if you take it off the base, it does not automatically shut off like the stainless steel one. But I do love it anyway ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I don't have any particular complains about this. The main thing I like about this kettle is that I can see inside it. Since I like warming up pasta in my kettle, this helps a lot to see how well the pasta is made. Its clear design is also quite stylish and adds a touch of modern design to my house. I want to add, I'm not completely sure that you're supposed to make pasta in a kettle. More recently I've been using the kettle to boil water to heat up ramen. Works a bit better and is safer, no need to painstakingly clean the kettle like this. ... show more
