Home DIY projects are usually rife with hidden traps and bunkers like a golf course, it just looks easy. Many trips back and forth from the hardware store later, you may still have to call in the reinforcement.. Not this time. This all metal shower head with stainless steel hardware was installed so quickly, it took longer to get the existing shower head off (had to fetch a wrench to loosen the threaded piece that is threaded on the water spout). This item is packaged in a very nice (and pink) box, almost look like a gift box. Inside, area three pieces of hardware, the shower head itself, and the holder piece that goes onto the spout are wrapped in bubble wrap and the stainless steel hose is coiled then tucked in a clear plastic ziplock bag. The installation instruction is one a single color printed page. You basically remove the old shower head and hardware off the spout and replace with the new one by first screw on the holder/feeder, then, attach the hose to it, then screw on the shower head/handle on the opposite end. Voila. Done. And with rubber seals all around, hand tight was good enough so it was a tool-less installation that took no more than five minutes. And the shower head just works, no leaks fast or slow. For being all metal, it is not too heavy. The hose drapes naturally and looks normal, and the holder just sits. Adjustable to pan and tilt the shower head. And the water that comes out of it is strong (likely due to no visible sign of any water conservation contraption that slows down flow. The kit included some teflon tape but even the direction says it’s optional. I didn’t feel like using them and don’t regret it. Rubber seals hand tight is the way to go. Our old shower head was way past its prime—water leaking around the hose, weak stream, and a nice little collection of lime/crud thanks to the plastic parts. I swapped it out for this all-metal handheld shower head and honestly, it’s been flawless so far. Installation was super easy. Everything threaded on perfectly and sealed up tight—I didn’t even need to use the included white plumber’s tape (though it’s nice they include it just in case). As for performance, the settings are legit. The rain mode gives a steady, satisfying stream that feels relaxing without being wimpy. The power massage setting is no joke—strong enough that I can blast soap scum off the tub and rinse it down like a mini pressure washer. Mixed mode is a great everyday option with even pressure and solid coverage. Build quality is the big win here. You can feel the weight right away, and it doesn’t have that “cheap plastic pretending to be metal” vibe. It feels like it’s built to last, which is exactly why I wanted an all-metal replacement in the first place. If your current shower head is leaking, getting weak, or just feels flimsy, this is a solid upgrade.

I mostly like the appearance of the Cobbe All Metal Handheld Shower Head. Its brushed nickel finish matches our newer bathroom fixtures and still looks fine next to the older chrome ones. There are three spray settings: a gentle rainfall, a strong concentrated stream, and a middle setting that blends the two. In our condo, where the HOA seems to have restricted water flow, the concentrated stream is by far the most useful; it provides the best rinsing and overall feel. The rainfall setting is pleasant but quite soft with our low pressure, and the “in‑between” combo setting doesn’t do much for me in this situation. There is also supposed to be a “Pause” mode between settings, but with our low pressure (or possibly a defect in this unit) I don’t really see that function working as advertised. If I were specifically shopping for a handheld with a great rainfall mode, this would be a strong choice. I’m not a big fan of rainfall heads in general, but the concentrated setting is the saving grace for me. I usually start with the rainfall to get fully wet, then easily click over to the concentrated spray. The selector mechanism is smooth and lighter to operate than my old plastic handheld, which often took two hands to change settings. I appreciate that this unit is metal rather than plastic. It has a heavier, more solid feel than my previous handheld, and in theory should last longer. My old plastic head is still fine after five years, but I’d expect this one to outlast it simply because of the materials. We already had a similar stainless hose installed, so I didn’t swap to the new one, though it looks nearly identical. The 59‑inch length is a plus for most users, and I’m happy to keep the included hose as a spare because hoses do eventually wear out. Installation was simple. Since I was replacing a similar style handheld, it was basically a quick unscrew/screw‑on job. Cobbe includes a small roll of plumber’s tape; I didn’t need it this time, but it’s nice that they provide it in case your threads weep a bit. I initially thought the price was on the high side, but after checking what it would now cost to replace my old plastic handheld, the value looks much better. That older all‑plastic unit was about $44 back in 2021 -- and double that in 2026. For an all‑metal handheld at today’s prices, the Cobbe feels like a reasonable deal. My old handheld shower head was advertised as being good for low water pressure and was rated at 2.5 gpm, whereas the Cobbe is listed at 1.7 gpm. In our condo, however, the HOA seems to have already restricted the building’s water flow, so the difference in ratings doesn’t really show up in actual use. On the concentrated setting, both old and new heads perform similarly, and the Cobbe’s concentrated spray actually feels a bit stronger to me than my old shower head’s equivalent mode.

The Cobbe all metal shower head is a legit upgrade the moment you take it out of the box. The hero feature here is easily the all stainless steel build because it feels heavy, solid, and built to last, instead of the usual hollowed-out plastic shower heads or aluminum heads. Installation is straightforward and just takes a few minutes, and everything threaded on clean with no leaks. I really like the extra long 59-inch hose. To me, this is a great length and makes it super useful for rinsing the tub, washing pets, or just getting better reach on your feet or back. Another great feature is the water pressure. I found it to be excellent without feeling harsh, and the three spray modes are actually noticeable and useful. The adjustable bracket holds position well and does not sag. Overall, the quality is impressive and offers strong value for the money for an easy bathroom upgrade.
