  • Decent little Chicken House
Color: Light Grey
Super cute chicken house. Not the strongest material, but with chickens not being heavy it should last for a bit with proper maintenance and care. Some of the screws weren't long enough for the roof but besides that pretty easy to construct.

  • Still a Great Coop After 1 Year!
Color: Dark Grey
I bought this coop a year ago and I’ve been so extremely pleased that I felt the need to finally write a review. It might be lengthy, but informative to those of you who are interested in getting this coop, but are hesitant. First thing that I will mention is that I had sealed the entire exterior with Thompson’s Water Seal a month prior to getting chickens. The wood is the standard fir that almost all coops are made of, so I was taking an extra precaution to keep moisture from warping it. I also placed the coop on top of patio pavers and bricks to keep the base from sitting directly on the ground. This also provided added security against digging predators. The coop itself was extremely easy to assemble, but it did have one minor flaw in the design… the rubber flaps at the crease where the hinges are for the nesting box doors. These things were so stiff that every time the doors were propped up with the wood the hinge screws would pop out. I fixed this by using longer screws and the flaps eventually “softened up” and no longer put tension on the hinges. The main reason why I decided on this coop was because of the space-saving design of having the run directly below the coop. I wanted my hens to be able to utilize as much space in the 10’ x 10’ run surrounding the coop and having a 2-story coop freed up a lot of space. This has been a great coop for my fluffy ladies and a fun project for me! I have since modified the bottom front door and installed a battery-operated, programmable automatic door. On the top rear door, I had removed the plastic window and installed a dual solar-powered fan to keep them cool in the Summer. For Winter, I have 2 panel heaters installed and they helped a lot! One is affixed to the wall on the platform between the nesting box and the hole for the ramp. The other is hanging from the ceiling near the front door. To keep the chill out, I wrap the bottom run with heavy-duty, clear tarps and attach them using bungee straps in the grommets. For the two windows on the top, I place large ziplock bags over them, tuck the top flap into the top of the door, then run a small bungee cord from the hinge to the latch. Needless to say, my ladies are comfy (and spoiled!) no matter the season. lol What’s truly great about this coop is that you can easily modify it to fit your chickens’ needs! I also like the color of it (which doesn’t appear to have faded at all since I bought it)! As for durability… it has withstood extremely high winds and I think that the placement had a lot to do with it. I have the rear of the coop facing a North fence and that has been an excellent wind block in the Winter! Rain and snow has barely touched the coop because I have it directly under a waterproof tarp that’s on the run. If you’re looking for a spacious, secure coop (it has hardware fabric NOT chicken wire, btw!) that has the potential to last years… this coop is an excellent choice! ... show more

  • House of Fluff and Feathers
Color: Light Grey
The product arrived in two separate boxes on two separate days. I did not realize this at first and was having a conniption. Three of the pieces were broken, though I was able to fix them. The company refunded me $30 for the damage and was very fast in answering my messages. The product itself is adequate. I was able to put it together and move it myself. Some of the instructions were vague but I managed to figure them out. The sliding drawer underneath doesn't fit quite right, but I made that work as well. Not a bad product for the money ... show more

  • Good for the price but needs some adjustments
Color: Light Grey
Very cute house when's it's put together. I did it with 2 people, but you could probably manage it with 1. Directions are easy to follow. I read other reviews where theirs started to warp and crack quickly and this is because it is made out of a soft wood, maybe pine? And it has a very thin coat of flat paint on it. I'm going to repaint it with an exterior paint. I also moved 2 of the roosting bars up because they were all 3 at ground level. Otherwise, it's a great little coop and I can't wait to move my little chickys in! ... show more

  • It’s the same coop you can buy from TSC
Color: Light Grey
First and foremost, this is rebranded version of the pre fabricated coops you can get from TSC. Please note my review is for the coop itself and pending return from the seller. That being said, keep an eye out for price differences but more importantly I’d suggest going and looking at the coop prior to purchasing as everyone’s needs differ. Many will agree this coop is either a temporary solution or if you’re placing your chickens in a relatively cool in temp and low predator area that provides good coverage from the elements. Then this is the perfect coop for you. Literally if you’re placing your chickens in your backyard patio, this would be pretty ideal. The wood used is soft and thin. The floor tray is made of flimsy aluminum flashing and in our case came banged up from someone trying to force it to fit in the frame. To add there are no supports on the bottom of the tray so once you try to remove it, more than likely everything inside will spill from the drop from one side to the other. The coop is cramped in my opinion. This is possibly good for 3-4 chickens as opposed to the description. The ventilation while it looks fairly good in pictures is actually very poor if unless you place the coop in an area that gets good breezes. I didn’t keep it long enough to actually put my chickens in and see how easy it was to clean and do upkeep on it because pieces of the coop came broken or missing. I returned the coop for a refund and will wait for the results and update my review rating accordingly. ... show more

  • Not bad if you know what to expect
Color: Dark Grey
I put this together by myself in a few hours using a screwdriver. After reading some reviews about the wood being soft I decided to go the safe route by avoiding any power tools while assembling it. A couple pieces did have some nicks or scrapes. But the wood is soft, so I expected some minor damage possibly from shipment and assembly. Size-wise, the coop is small but you can expand off the run to get the square footage. I left the tray off under the roosts. The metal is very flimsy and also gives more head space for the birds. The wood is not weather treated. This coop should only be used indoors, such as a garage / shed, or be sprayed with a water proof coating and probably put on top of a solid platform. It's a solid little coop but I don't think it could handle much of a storm. It's perfect for a rooster and a couple of hens that are standard size but would be perfect for bantams. It's worth the price you'll spend vs building it yourself. ... show more
