I've had the product for just over a month. I installed and operated it following the instructions of the user manual, strictly and yet after owning the item for 6 weeks, one of the panels has completely ceased to function. It is now past the time that i can return it and I'm stuck with a product that literally only half works. I would not recommend purchasing this product, unless you only need it to function for a little over a month. Update- After submitting my review the seller contacted me, apologized and gave me a full refund so, I'm going to repurchase a new one from them now that I know they care about treating their customers right! ... show more

Set up the heater in late November, and it got the dog house comfortably warm...inside temp was 65 when the outside temp got down to 36. Then, on Dec. 29, I noticed the house was cold...and the heater was also cold. Checked electrical connection. wiring and location; nothing wrong, simply stopped heating. Set it up on a separate circuit in my workshop and checked it out on the 30th... still not heating. To add stress to disappointment, a severe cold snap is scheduled starting on Jan 5 and lasting 8-10 days, with morning temps falling to 10-12 degrees. Purchased a small ceramic space heater w/temp control locally, and installed it on Jan 3. Was 70 this morning with an outside temp of 38. I give the coop heater a one star rating because it did serve its purpose for 28 days. Not even going to try to return it because of the "over 30 day" hassle. ... show more

Decently priced Had it hung up in the coop for about 2-3 weeks, it has been working great till I went out there last night and one half of the is no longer heating up!!! Bummer lasted long enough to not be able to return it. Now Gotta come up with another heat source for the coop this winter

    • Works after you fix it.
Unit gets hot to the touch- even the product's own warning labels state this. That makes it unsuitable for chickens if placing directly in the coop. It has to be outside the fence or wire mesh so that your birds cannot have direct access to it. The cheesy little plastic feet will not hold it up if your bird lands on on the heater and uses it as a perch. And of course they will. Chickens perch on everything. Another reason why it can't be dropped into a coop or brooder. Also, the keyholes at the top are molded in upside down making it unsuitable to hang on screws in the wall. I ended up making custom brackets and a wire mesh cover over a frame to mount the thing to my brooder wall. After modifications it works great. When I ordered it I was expecting to be able to drop it in the brooder and plug it in- not quite so simple. ... show more
