Straight lines and a comfortable handle that resembles blond wood result in a design that is distinctly modern and northern European. A pronounced water level window makes it easy to know how much water remains in the kettle without removing the lid. Lid and handle both stay cool to the touch when boiling water. The interior of the kettle is almost entirely stainless steel making it durable for years of continual use. The limited plastic components that come in contact with water are all non-toxic and BPA- free. Boil-dry safety protection automatically turns the kettle off when it reaches a full boil. So far works great, the wooden handle is sold and the outside of the kettle stays cool when the kettle is hot, and I am happy with the design. I use my kettle everyday, multiple times a day. Since it sits out on my counter, I wanted something to freshen up my kitchen. I had another kettle (A De Longhi) for over 7 years, but was ready for something new. The Chantal Kettle is aesthetically pleasing, I like the way the handle feels in the hand - it is easy to grip & hold when it is full & heavy. Unfortunately, it lasted less than 45 days. Broke right after the return date. Each time we flip the switch to start it, it triggers our GFI. The kettle has never been submerged in water, we treat it no differently than the De Longhi & we have tried every trouble shooting effort fix it. To no avail. So now we are out $100 & need to but another kettle. Also, Chantal will replace this kettle because they can not verify Amazon as a trusted seller. ... show more
