Over the last year and a half, we've had to replace both of our air conditioners. We were told by the installer that we should always cover them in the off season (this was news to me). We were advised to get a cover that would basically protect the top only. Supposedly, if you cover the sides as well, it prohibits airflow and can cause mold growth--which would be bad, of course. Originally, I had been thinking of just cutting some plywood to sit on top of the units, but then I learned there are covers like these out there. Since then, I've used three different covers (this being the third). All have worked, but this is not my favorite among them. This is a nice, solid, reasonably heavy duty protector. The cover itself is clearly waterproof and I'd expect it to last for at least several seasons given its thickness. Only time will tell, though. The grommets are similarly solid. The bungee cords, however, are very light weight and this is why I consider this a lesser product. I’m sure the bungees will hold up just fine for a season or two, but I don't trust them to last any longer than that. I have little doubt that the cover itself will outlast the bungees by a considerable margin. In my opinion, thicker, heavier bungees should have been supplied with the cover since it is meant to sit outside in inclement weather for extended periods of time. Anyway, I test fit the cover on our large Trane A/C units (which measure 38" or so across). The install was super easy and the bungees made it very easy to get a super tight, secure fit. The whole design is very simple but that's not a bad thing. Anyway, time will tell how well those bungees hold up, but I do have my concerns. If worse comes to worst, though, I can always replace the bungees if they go bad. Again, I do feel the cover itself is well made and should be quite durable. So, if you're in the market, I'd say this cover is a decent choice--though there are other similar products out there with better bungees.

I happen to have the smallest, but somehow most effective non-heat pump AC unit on my house's system. with that said, covering it in the winter is a pain. Tarps are always too big and cutting one to size just guarantees that it will tear and fall apart after the first thaw. This product comes with the cover and the bungees. It takes all of 10 seconds to set up and it'll help keep your fan and compressor running for over a decade. Unfortunately it means it'll outlive its refrigerant availability since refrigerant comes and goes, but that's still better than having to pay for a new system every 10 years (or less).

Covered the AC unit well and was easy to attach. A little fiddly to get everything cinched, but only needing to put on/take off once a year is hardly a concern for me. My coils don't get that dirty, but it will be nice to keep the leaves out of the unit….I said “piece” and can’t edit now. (Face palm)

I’ve got several outside HVAC units and have wanted to get covers on each one in the winter. I ordered this as soon as I saw it. Overall, it’s exactly what it claims to be. A cover and 4 little bungee cords. Install wasn’t hard, but a few things to be aware of: - The cord on the bungee’s is doubled over on itself, which is fairly big. That fairly big part of the cord gets in the way of the bungee hook. I was able to work around that just fine by pulling the folded over part further down/out of the way while hooking. - This is not a mesh - it’s a solid cover. I prefer a mesh (in case the AC accidentally gets turned on while the cover is in place), but this will do. - It’s generally better to install at an angel because not all corners on HVAC units have metal grill below to attach. Mine install this time was a little kaddy-whumpus because I started installing to each corner and when I got to the far-back corner I didn’t have any grill to attach to (and it wasn’t worth spending another minute starting over and redoing it). If you start your install with this in mind your install should turn out better. I’m going with 4 stars here and feel this presents a fair value.

The air conditioner cover by Danqgogoiu is a simple design with maximum results. So easy to install using the included bungee cords with hooks on both ends. Hook through the grommets on the corners of the cover, and then hook to the grill on the sides of the unit. Best to attach the opposite two corners first. Will not flap in the wind; is waterproof to keep the snow on the top and not inside. The material seem sturdy, but time will tell. The sizing is good and fits across the upper opening perfectly.

There is not a lot that such a simple product can do to impress you. But you want a cover that is durable, easy to install, and actually repels water. For all of that, this cover is a great choice. If you are looking for a cover that you use to filter the air going through the unit, this is not it. This is meant for when you lay up the unit for winter. This cover is meant to keep out leaves, water, animals, you name it. It is super east to install. The metal gromets are nice as the cover will be under slight tension and fabric would eventually rip without them. The 4 bungy cords that came with it are on the smaller and thinner side, but they hold the cover nicely. By using bungy cords, if after a few seasons, the cords start to lose their stretch, they are easily replaced. There are two sides to this cover. It is not just a plastic sheet. You want the glossy side facing up so it is in place to repel water. The cover feels like it is good quality. I gave it 5 stars, not because it is the greatest cover I have ever known, but because it does everything that it is supposed to do and does it well.

This AC cover showed up right before our weekend snow/ice storm like some kind of HVAC guardian angel. I’m not saying it controls the weather… but the timing was suspiciously perfect. Installation was quick and painless (which is rare for anything involving the outside of my house), and it fit snugly without looking like I wrapped my AC unit in a trash bag and hoped for the best. The material feels thick, sturdy, and ready to fight snow, ice, sleet, and whatever dramatic nonsense winter throws at us next. While the storm was busy freezing everything else solid, my AC was sitting there under its cozy little cover like, “I’m fine, thanks for asking.” No ice buildup, no worries, no regrets. If you live somewhere winter likes to show off, get this. Bonus points if it arrives right before a storm and makes you feel like you planned ahead—even if you absolutely did not.
