For the first 4 years of living with a mini split unit in the small house on my property (mainly for guests) I had them using the small remote control that came with the unit. It was unnecessarily confusing and on one occasion the guest didn't know what he was doing and the whole unit shut down in the middle of summer and he had one uncomfortable sleepless night. When I found out that cielo had a unit to control mini splits I jumped on the bandwagon and bought this one and have been thrilled with its performance. Does everything and more than I ever expected. You can get as simple or as fancy on the setup as you want. Being able to control the temperature via the app and wifi from anywhere in the world was the biggest draw for me. But what I didn't expect was the level of support from Cielo on their Customer Help phone line. I had 2 occasions to call to ask some questions and got 2 absolutely standout customer service reps-- Scott and Alex -- so patient and so knowledgable about their product. No waiting to get to talk with someone. This is lost in most customer service organizations. So not only is this a 5 star product, but their staff is also 5 star! ... show more

This thing works perfect with my Furion Chill Cube in my Rv. I bought 2 of them for the 2 Ac units in the Rv. They work when your away to monitor or change the temp if youre connected to the internet but we always are. When traveling I use my hotspot on my phone to connect it to my wifi router and when I'm camping I connect the router to the campground and it allows us to monitor the while our pups are in the Rv. I just started using travelfi so my wifi repeater is connect to that and everything is working great. I also have two Tapo cameras to monitor the pups while we're out doing things and all this works wonderful. I couldn't be happier. ... show more

Our wall unit was installed on a short wall upstairs and it just really did not like that. It would cycle on and off because the heat sort of trapped in that area. Argh! Company quoted the manufactures thermostat for 4 times this amount. I figured I’d try this and send it back if it did not work. We ordered another for our downstairs unit since it worked so well. This is a great product. Looks good. Even the wall mount has a level on it to make it hang easier. So extra thought. App is free to use. Very happy. ... show more

    • Perfect cloud control for Mitsubishi mini-splits

Perfect thermostat for Mitsubishi Mini-splits. I have two wall units with Kumo/Comfort app adaptors. Mitsubishi's app has been mediocre at best over the years. Its current form, "Comfort" works well enough but doesn't allow the fans to stop when desired temp is reached. I read using an MHK2 thermostat lets you adjust setting 127 for the units and stop the fan.... but those are over $400 EACH, and are very basic devices. Research pointed me to the Breez Max which is basically a thermostat that acts like a remote via IR. For me, the greatest feature is the "Comfy" setting which will completely turn off the unit when setpoint is reached. Well, I am here to report it works flawlessly. So well I purchased a second just a day after the first. For $230, I got full cloud control and visibility, plus added functionality in the Comfy setting. If I was to have any gripes, it would be that each command does make my wall unit beep similar to if the Mitsu remote was issuing the comment. If someone was sleeping in these rooms (which they are not), the beep might be disturbing. ... show more

I recently had a Mitsubishi mini-split system installed with two indoor air handler units. I wanted the benefits of wall mounted thermostats for the units (opposed to simple remotes) but my installer told me the Mitsubishi thermostats were pricey and performance was questionable. I researched aftermarket options and settled on the Cielo Breez Max purchasing two units (one for each floor). Setup was easy, mounting each one next to the hard-wired thermostats for my baseboard heat. Both units easily learned my remotes (with one exception I'll explain below) and were up and running in minutes. The app was easy to set up on my iPhone. The thermostats have significant capabilities, as such there is a bit of a learning curve. I initially set up a basic schedule for each unit without issue. I had a couple of questions about setting up the Comfy mode so I went to the Cielo site and clicked on the chat, within minutes I was chatting with Scott and he gave me a call. He answered all my questions and stayed on the line until he was sure everything was working fine. A few days later as I was fine tuning my programing, I noticed one of the functions of my downstairs air handler was not operating as expected. My downstairs unit is larger than the upstairs one and has the ability to direct airflow side to side, that function was not available on the Cielo thermostat. I again went to chat on the Cielo site and again within minutes I was talking to a tech support representative (unfortunately I don't remember his name). As with my first call the rep worked with me while he figured out the correct programing to update my thermostat to operate my Mitsubishi unit. I am fairly immersed in the Alexa environment and installed the Cielo skill in my Alexa app. My intention was to use the Cielo thermostat to trigger an Alexa routing to turn on a couple of fans when my downstairs unit turns on to circulate the heat. Unfortunately, I was unable to find a way to do this. Though Alexa can see and control the thermostats it cannot use the thermostats to trigger routines. Back to the chat and a call from Cielo support, once again I was speaking to Scott. He worked with me for a while and came to the conclusion that at this time Alexa cannot use the thermostats to trigger a routine. He said he will pass that information along so hopefully in the future that will be an option. I do believe however that that will have to be addressed by Amazon. I can't speak to long term durability and haven't used many of the capabilities but so far the product has performed as advertised at a reasonable price. I have found the best quality of Cielo though is their after-sales support. Three times now I've used their chat feature and within minutes I'm talking to a knowledgeable, polite person that doesn't appear to be watching a clock trying to move onto the next call. This is my second Cielo. I upgraded my old one to the Cielo Breez Max which is compatible with my Home Assistant. Very cool. (pun intended). I use it in my garage and program it to turn the AC higher when I leave the Geofence and other energy saving routines.

First things first: would I buy this again? Yes, I would, which is the only indicator that matters for any relationship. I'm enjoying the geofencing, presets, and the ability to control when I'm outside of the home. I would've given it 5 stars if not for one problem. The product doesn't seem to play well with modern mesh Wi-Fi, and I had to make some adjustments to avoid significant frustration. I have three Asus nodes in the home with one SSID and an IOT network. As a workaround, I've pinned the Breez-Max to the closest node and reserved the IP. I still have disconnects, but they are less frequent. I refuse to divide the Wi-Fi antennas. ... show more

Excellent Customer Service. I purchased a couple of these for mini split units in a rental property because they have the ability to lock temperature ranges and prevent renters from setting the AC to freezer temps. They work great for that and are easy to program with the app. I had one go bad and would not power up. I contacted them via their web page and the next day they emailed me. They asked for my phone number so we could talk real time. I sent them a quick video of the unit and what was happening. They said they would be back in touch with me within 48 hours after talking to engineering. The next morning I got a call from them asking to confirm my address so they can send me a new unit. There were no hoops to jump through, no mountains to climb. They just provided great customer service. I got the replacement unit within 3 days. Things break, it happens.
