I purchased the Breeze Stop insulation kit after installing my Midea AC unit. My main reason for purchasing it was to work in conjunction with the air conditioner by sealing the gaps and adding insulation around the top and side panels, helping the unit operate more effectively and efficiently. Installation was very easy and only took a few minutes. After I finished, I noticed that I could still see a small amount of daylight underneath my AC unit, so I used some of the leftover foam to seal that gap as well. Not only does the kit add another layer of insulation around the AC, but I was also pleasantly surprised by how nice the finished installation looks! It has a clean, seamless appearance and looks like it was made specifically for my window and AC unit rather than something I added afterward. I am extremely happy with this purchase. The directions were easy to follow, installation was simple, and it made a noticeable improvement to the overall installation. If you take your time, measure carefully, and follow the instructions, you should have no problem installing it. It only takes a few minutes, but the finished result makes such a difference. This is the one of those things that you buy just to check and see if it will work, then use it and immediately order more! I used to use duct tape to seal the ACs in the windows every summer and my husband hated it because it ripped off the paint on the trim, forcing him to touch it up every fall. Problem solved now! Not only that, but I’ve noticed a SIGNIFICANT improvement in preventing drafts because the padding is so thick and insulated! Keeps out tiny bugs that got in too! The instructions that were included were very easy to follow, though you really should take your time and do it carefully because if you over-cut the material, the whole thing is useless. So always overcut by a couple millimeters and you can always smush it in or trim it with a sharp utility knife. The adhesive is very strong, haven’t any issues with that. We have five AC units altogether, each one a different size, so I bought these because the size could be customized and they really do fit any type of unit. I honestly can’t praise these enough. So happy I tried them!

I needed something to keep the cold area out of my bedroom so I purchased this insulation kit. Overall it was easy to install and did exactly what it promised. Here are the pros and cons. Pros: 1. Very easy to cut and install. The foam insulation fit very snug in place. Tip: cut slightly bigger than what you measured. 2. The top strip fit just perfect I did not have to cut it to custom fit. 3. The temperature in my room went from 63 degree F to 68 F after installing this kit. The temp outside was 41 F and the thermostat on my house was set to 69 F. 4. It did the job and looks good in the window. I was worried it would look tacky but it doesn’t. Cons: 1. Poor instructions. It doesn’t make clear where the tape side of the insulation is supposed to do. Meaning do you stick it to the unit or the wall. When I first applied the left side I stuck the adhesive side to the unit. When I did the right side I found that applying it to the wall/window was a better. Also for the top piece it wasn’t clear if the 3M side of tape was meant to go on the window or attached to the side pieces. (The top piece has 2 pieces of adhesive. I applied the 3M side to the window. 2. The tape is not very strong but I’m confident it will won’t come apart. For the price it should come with extra double sided adhesive. 3.The foam insulation comes pre cut. One for each side of the unit . my unit is not perfectly center and so I had to cut the width in order to fit on the right side. But the width was slightly too small for the left side I needed more width on the left side. It would be better if they gave you one large foam piece and let you cut the two pieces to the sizes you need. However with the extra that I had left over I was able to cut a piece to go under the bottom part of my unit. There was a draft coming from that area but I was able to seal that off. None of the cons are deal breaker and overall I think it’s a little pricey but I got my monies worth!

As a preface: I consider myself a veteran of the "custom DIY" foam struggle. My previous attempt involved hand-cutting poster board and foam in 90-degree heat while solo-installing an 80lb, 12,000 BTU beast. Because that rushed job was subpar, my New England winter was full of unacceptable drafts and a humidifier that couldn't keep up. Since I refuse to lug that 80lb unit to a basement storage in another building every year, I needed a real solution. This kit was it. It took me about 1.5 hours. Be warned: the materials are soft, squishy foam with vinyl backing. It is not "fun" to cut, especially trimming down millimeters of soft material because you don't like how it looks on the test fit. For most people, you'll likely be restricted to scissors and/or a utility knife. - I recommend ditching the scissors.. Scissors will compress the foam before actually cutting, leading to jagged edges. Use a utility knife with multiple light passes. Let the blade do the work, or you’ll bunch the foam and end up with a mess (or a bandage). - I recommend cutting 1/8" (inch) wider/taller than your actual measurement. I tried 2/8" at first, and it looked like a crumpled accordion in the test fit. 1/8" inch provides a perfect, snug "wedge" fit. - I actually found the adhesive unnecessary; the pieces fit so snugly that they stayed in place on their own. The quality is good for what it is. The thickness is legitimately sufficient to keep the frigid New England air outside where it belongs. It costs about the same as my failed "custom" setup but looks significantly less "unsightly." Value is definitely here. Bonus: My window frame is 32.5", and AC is 24" wide. The 36" kit yielded me enough extra materials to insulate the bottom of the AC as well. Godspeed with your installations. May your cuts be straighter than mine.

I live in an environment that's very muggy/humid in the summer, yet chilly in the winter... So anytime in the summer that my window unit isn't running, it feels humid in that room because of the paper thin window unit seals, and in the summer, I have to fully remove the window unit because it essentially makes my room feel like the artic tundra. This item has already made such a difference in the ONE WEEK that I've had it installed. The insulation panels are thick and secure, easy to cut, and block out all humidity from outside... So I anticipate that having this installed will also save me some money on my power bill now that A/C & heat can't seep through the window unit cracks and thin lining. I highly recommend this product! Easy to install, great look, and fair price!

My AC is in one side of a double window, and it slipped by me that this was relying on the outer portion of the window frame to press up against. Initially I was thinking that it would be placed into the frame in front of, but with, the accordion side panels. I hadn't really looked at the accordion when measuring the unit so it didn't occur to me that the lack of a surface on one side was going to be a problem. This was my own fault for not looking at that detail more before purchasing, but would be nice if it came with something to account for such situations, like perhaps a flap without foam that could be cut to height and attached to the foam (like the large flap on the top strip) with something like the small flap adhesive to bond to the window frame. Instructions were also kinda vague, so it was unclear what I was supposed to be doing for some parts. The video on the product page was much clearer about those few tidbits. Product seems like it would work well overall, but I have to figure out a way to work around the missing wall problem. Would also be nice if it came with some kind of tape to seal the edge against the walls to keep things from potentially moving around or bugs squeezing through.

I bought these Breeze Stop Surround Insulation Panels for a large 39 inch window 🪟 in an upstairs guest bedroom/office. Even though we will be using these panels for less than three months total this summer, I totally consider them worth the investment. Love them! 🌟 Because the window is so large, the extended air conditioner side panels did not completely reach the window frame on both sides upon installation. (We had purchased a new, small 5,000 btu unit and the side panels simply weren’t long enough for the size of the window.) We improvised with a few layers of clear heavy duty window sealing tape on the sides to tape up the openings. (Of note: The brand I bought from Amazon is SWRT 2”x 90FT 8 Mil Heavy Duty Transparent Window Weather Sealing Tape, No Residue - which I must say is a fabulous product! Thick, strong, durable and truly no residue upon removal.) Once taped up, the air conditioner was secure but needed something more. This is where Breeze Stop came in. The panels provide insulation and privacy. 👍 Upon receipt of the Breeze Stop Panels, I could see their thick grey foam and covering vinyl. The 40” size was sufficient for the window. I carefully measured and cut the panels to fit with scissors, ✂️ which wasn’t a problem. Note: If you have very old, dull scissors ✂️ do yourself a favor and buy some new sharp scissors! Just take your time and measure and cut correctly. The insulation side panels neatly fit into each side. I was able to use excess pieces to seal the bottom area, too. I then used the window sealing tape to tape around all the edges. I actually didn’t need to, as they were all securely wedged in, but I hate bugs 🪰🪲so wanted to seal it completely. 👍 It looks great! See my pictures. The foam insulation side panels are thick and insulating against outside noise. They also provide insulation for the window panels and keep the cool air in the room. It honestly wasn’t that hard to install! I plan on reusing these side panels next year if I can, or just buying another one next summer. The panels seem durable and well made. Living in the Northeast, we will be taking this air conditioner out come September and storing it for the winter. ❄️ So in summary, take your time, measure correctly and carefully, and have sharp scissors! Highly recommended! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Super easy to install and looks very clean, like it’s part of the wall (I have white walls). It’s very well padded, made of durable nylon type fabric on one side and dense foam on the other. The sticky side was great and feels like it won’t budge. Great seal and easy to cut to fit my window. I love that I can keep it up year round too, 10/10
