And by updated, I mean no more climbing on a stool to use a switch to reverse the direction of the blades. No more guessing which chain you pull, and turning off the fan instead of turning on the light. I upgraded a useable, but aged 52" fan and this has been amazing. I love that I can control everything from the remote, or even a phone app. The brightest light is super bright, thanks to 3CCT LED lights. My current fan has dim and less dim. It's really not much use for anything but not having a dark room. This is the only overhead light in the room, so there are times when brightness is a must (like, when assembling things like fans on the living room floor) This was relatively easy to install. I did need a second set of hands, as I'm older, and can't do all the things anymore, but my previous installation helper helped this time, and the install was much faster and simpler than before. We also had no trouble with the fan being level. My previous fan has probably $20 in change attached to it over the years to keep it from wobbling. (that's an exaggeration, but not by much) I love that not only can I go up past speed 2 (my old fan tried to take off if you went to 3) it has SIX speeds. I can't say enough about this. It will definitely help with keeping the house warm this winter, and I can't wait till summer. Last year I couldn't use the old fan at all, as it was getting really bad, and the consistency of the air conditioning was definitely off. This is a great buy, and I will probably grab a matching unit for over the dining table.

I ordered 3 completely different JOFIOS ceiling fans. A 48" white, a 48" black, and this fan, a 52" white. This was the first fan we installed, and we put it up in our living room. It's very modern looking, and it has really cool features. There's just one big problem... The fan doesn't work properly. Once it was connected to power, we tested the fan motor to make sure it worked before we completed the installation. The fan motor rotated normally with no blades attached. However, once everything was together, the fan wouldn't work. When you turn it on, it appears that the motor isn't strong enough to turn the fan. It just barely starts to move the fan blades, and we actually have to "jump start" the fan every time we want it to turn on. It works great once it gets moving, but it defeats the purpose of having a remote controlled fan. The upside is that it's in a larger common area where we usually keep it on or off, and we rarely adjust the speed. This would be a much bigger issue if it was a bedroom fan. The other 2 JOFIOS fans work perfectly, and we couldn't be happier with them. I think this fan was an exception, and I would still order JOFIOS fans in the future.
