The "people door" to the back room stays closed for climate control. This little door helps maintain temperature without curtailing my pet's freedom. A plumb installation is key to make it swing easily. I had to enlarge my cut out by 1/8th inch cause the door was sticking. My pet was scared of it at first and took a few hours to get used to it. Now, it's second nature. He even likes to look through it like some weird one channel human tv. After months of use, dust and debris is making it harder to swing and it sticks to one side like in the picture. Luckily hot soapy water, a toothbrush, and 5 minutes fixed that. The door doesn’t swing freely. The cat pushes with paws and head and I still have to go over and push it passed the little clips/door selector thing. Even after filing down the plastic so there isn’t a door selector option, the door still seated in the mount really tightly. Because I already cut a hole in the laundry room door and it’s already mounted, my next option is to remove the fuzzy bristles around the flap door. We installed it in our out door shed for our 2 cat.The girls love it.they can get out of the rain or cold without being confined to a closed in space.its also has the easy to lock to either keep them in or out.

    • Nice item for small pets
Looks great and works well on the door. Only complaint is the green and red locks on the bottom are loose- which when an animal goes through the door and touches them, they can automatically lock. This causes the animal to either be locked in or out. I put a piece of duct tape over the locks so they stay unlocked. After installing, please check this issue, or animals may get locked out in the cold, or get harmed if they can’t get back in. ... show more
