I blind bought this a couple days ago and it just arrived. I like gardenia but it’s not like I’m a gardenia lover, so I wasn’t sure what to expect from this, but I am so glad I took a chance. I got a very light whiff of gardenia on that initial spritz and then I smell honeysuckle. It smells like open windows on a spring day and the light breeze gently carries the scent of springtime into your home. I’m not sure that this would be a safe blind… It is definitely not an overpowering gardenia scent. This is more like a gentle whisper of spring. A very light sweet soap sent. But for me after that initial spritz all I smell is tuberose. And unfortunately, for me that is one of my least favorite scents. I was really hoping for that creamy sultry Gardenia mixed with some yummy delicious coconut. But, on my skin and in my nose, All I get is tuberose. Bummer. Maybe someone in my family will like it and if not, it will be a lovely air freshener. In case anyone is wondering why I gave it five stars because it is a very lovely fragrance. I wanted to buy this for so long. Don't know why I didn't get it sooner. The fragrance is very close to that of a real gardenia. The eau-de-cologne fragrance doesn't last very long though.

I ordered my second bottle of Island Gardenia from Amazon, thinking the first might have been old annd mistakenly sent and neither has any scent at all!! It used to have a wonderful gardenia aroma. Now there is no virtually no scent! Don’t waste your money.

I have bought this Jovan musk for over 40 yrs. I still like the scent. However, the scent no longer stays. The potency has changed. When I was younger 2 squirts were all you needed otherwise it was too over powering. It would last morning till night. Now it is not as long lasting as it used to be.
