I wish I knew what the coating they put on this so I can get it all off and season the pan they way I want, I got just about every bit of it off but still have a few spots to get off before using. The handle is long and solid but before you use it make sure to tighten the screws down good or they will fall out.

WHY I ORDERED THIS: - I love my Cast Iron cookware. - I liked that under the Product information; it says; Country of Origin - USA... But more on that later! - I have various sizes of the typical round frying pans and a few Dutch Ovens and a Comal. But I did not have any Oblong, Sizzling Fajita pan. - When I saw this Cast Iron Sizzler Pan with the wood handle, and I THOUGHT it was Made In The USA, I decided to order this. THE GOOD STUFF ABOUT THIS: - This Cast Iron Sizzler Pan is the Perfect size for Restaurant Style Sizzling fajitas for 2 people! - Also, this Pan is a great size for frying up 2 decent sized burgers on our wood burning stove in winter, which we just did this evening. - The long wood handle is great for retrieving this Pan from hot ovens, stoves and grills. THE NOT SO GOOD STUFF ABOUT THIS: - This Cast Iron Sizzler Pan, is NOT Made In The USA! - Under the the Product information List, it says this Cast Iron Sizzler Pan's Country of Origin is USA. - BUT, Country of Origin ONLY means it is SHIPPED from the USA! Not actually MADE IN THE USA! - This Cast Iron Sizzler Pan plainly states on its box... Made In China! I did not notice this until today! CONCLUSION: - After some serious consideration, we decided to STOP using this Cast Iron Sizzler Pan! - We are concerned with this Pan because of where it is actually made! - I can not find any info as to if this brand of Cast Iron Ware has any LFGB and/or FDA certifications. - We don't want any unknown toxic metals released into our food, so we decided to only use this Cast Iron Sizzler Pan as a decorative item near our wood stove now.

Fits well in my 16" pizza oven and in my RV oven. I've used it several times to grill steaks and fish. It works well for that. Big enough for one or two servings.

I needed a pan to put on my grill so I could cook onions and peppers at the same time as I cook my fajita meat. This seem to fit the bill. However, I did not like the finish of the pan itself. I don't know what kind of a finish it is, but it does not seem to be a traditional seasoning. It was very tough, almost like an enamel coating. How tough? It was incredibly resistant to grinding with a grindstone on a drill. Regular seasoning is not like this. But in any case, I knew it was cast iron underneath, so I used my grindstones and sanding discs and I sanded it entirely bare. Then I wiped on grapeseed oil and did my own seasoning on high heat over the stove. It turned out beautifully. I have included three pictures. The first is the pan after I got everything stripped out and it is just bear rock cast-iron. The second is a picture as I am seasoning it on the stove top, and the third picture is when it is done. The handle may need a little filing so it goes into the pan a little easier, but I re-shaped it a bit and everything works perfect now. There was another review that addressed this, but a little filing will make it easier to insert. It was some work, but I'm glad I bought it.
