I'm old, 77 to be exact. I must maintain a hill with a 100ft drop from slides during winter rains . The slope is greater than 45 degrees and has 10ft sections that are vertical. I use two ropes with one of these units on each to maneuver up, down and sideways while hanging and pinning matting to the hill. Without these units I would surely die in a fall. New to climbing so don't take my opinion too seriously. Product seems to work well, but it sure doesn't look that sturdy to me. I would recommend buying two, one for the left hand and one for the right.

This appears to be for rock climbing. Way more than I needed so I returned it. It has an awesome orange color, that would be easily seen and would standout. The grip is sturdy and the locking mechanism is strong.
