  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Great! Easy set up! iPhone and Samsung print works!
Color: MF262dw II (New Model) Pattern Name: Printer
My husband tried to use his Mac for the set up, haha! Following the included instructions he put the disc in and it doesn't recog the AOS, he doesn't use his Mac anyways to print, he uses his iphone. He thought I needed the disc for my Dell per instructions... nope, I don't have a disc on my Dell (The instructions told my husband NOT to plug in direct to computer.) The next day I took over! 😏 After turning the printer on, I followed the electronic instruction on small digital screen on the printer (didn't even pull out the included instructions or disc.). Set up the time zone and wifi. Plugged my Dell directly into the printer, haha! πŸ‘©πŸ’» Went to add printer and it already recognized the printer, did a quick test paper. The printer said there was no paper even though there was. I looked on the screen and it wanted me to pick the type of paper. I hit the down button 2 times... BINGO! πŸ˜πŸ‘Printed. Pulled up a test page from a pdf on my computer to check it again. Printed just fine. Then pulled up a pdf on my Samsung cellphone selected print, this took me to Canon app download. Downloaded it. Went back to pdf to print! Printed great! My whole experience took maybe 8 mins. Asked my husband to try his iphone... he pulled up a pdf, hit print, and it printed! He didn't have to download anything! He has been printing all morning... 🀭. This is one set up that the instructions make it way harder than it really is. 🀯 ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Great Printer with One Inconvenient flaw
Color: MF262dw II (New Model) Pattern Name: Printer
The flaw. It occasionally (10%? of time) mistakenly indicates no paper and fails to print. So I manually go to the printer and play with the menu until it prints. As noted in headline, this problem only marginally detracts from what I consider a quality product. Note: I was not happy with the technical support (they said it was a problem with my computer! I was a computer specialist and know that's wrong); I may try again in a day or two. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Overkill for a home machine but still great bang for the buck
Color: MF262dw II (New Model) Pattern Name: Printer
I purchased this for my home. I tend to go overkill (reasons below) and wanted to get more than I'll need for a while. The setup was mostly easy. Mostly. Printing is super fast and easy right from the box. As soon as it was connected to my WiFi, my computer saw it and was able to print. Print quality is good. Pretty much what you expect from a greyscale laser. Standard office machine style fare. Copying is about as simple as you would think as well. Lift the lid and place paper facing down or use the ADF. Scanning... This is the weak spot. Using the ADF to scan was one reason I went with this one. I wanted to digitize my files for better storage. However, the scan to PC button is trash. I can't seem to get it to work and as many people here have had issues with support, I won't bother with them. BUT....I found the scanner just fine using a basic Windows scanner utility and am able to trigger and receive scans just fine using that. I still have more work to do on learning how to optimize it and get results I prefer, but that's on me. Why go overkill? Simple. I wanted duplex printing and ADF scanning. I wanted a laser since I don't print with any real frequency, but I want it to always work (no dried up ink cart heads...) Most importantly, and I can't stress this enough....I despise starter cartridges. This one comes with a standard toner cartridge, and being made for small offices, it's going to last me a good while. I don't want to but another printer or more toner/ink for a while. This should fill that requirement without issue. Just wish the scanning was a better experience. ... show more

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars Confusing driver set-up
Color: MF262dw II (New Model) Pattern Name: Printer
I'm one of those people who is frustrated by technology, so having clear instructions that exactly match the buttons on the machine, etc. are very important to me. I was able to get through the machine set-up OK, but when I got to the driver, I had huge problems. The Canon website doesn't work to download the driver for this machine; I've tried every possible way and there was never a download. On Firefox, it wouldn't even open the printer page at all. The instructions in the user's manual for this step are ABYSMAL and do more harm than good. The instructions DO NOT match up with the actual website; when using Chrome, I was able to easily find my machine on the Canon site, but nothing at all happens when I click on the icons on the site. No downloads. I've tried on two different browsers. Enormously frustrating. I finally got the printer to work just by opening my Settings on my laptop and doing a "search" for a new printer and finding this one from the list. The instruction manual for the printer doesn't list this as an option, it just tells you to download the driver from the Canon website and leaves you wallowing around in frustration when you can't. For tech-savvy people, this is probably a non-issue. But for the rest of us, gah! Fix it! Ugh! No one should be this frustrated trying to do something so simple! Fix it, Canon! For crying out loud! ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Alexa spied on my conversation but this is a nice printer
Color: MF262dw II (New Model) Pattern Name: Printer
My last canon laser printer lasted 12 years but was a printer only and cost like $300, which I said in a phone conversation so imagine my surprise when I got on amazon to start looking for a printer this popped up. I was really agitated though because I have alexa set up to only start when I say the start word, so it listened to a phone conversation between me and a ex girlfriend that was private and about more than printers ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Died within 90 days - but Canon took care of me.
Color: MF262dw II (New Model) Pattern Name: Printer
I can't believe this thing died within 90 days, I have owned canon printer products since late 90s and never had major problems like this. I still have a canon printer color laser jet from 10+ years ago that is still working fine. Canon tech support was good and I was able to RMA and get a replacement ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Cannon: provide either clear photos or a video showing how to re-insert the drum. I figured it out.
Color: MF262dw II (New Model) Pattern Name: Printer
After the machine took up about 5 pages at one time and caused a jam, which I think was just a fluke, I had to take components out to get the hard jam out. Cannon's manual with cartoon drawings were no help. 1) what it looked like after getting the jam out. 2) what it should have looked like when ready to put the drum and then toner back into the machine. 3) is the tab that was the problem, needed to be pushed back into place. 4-7 the reinstallation of the drum and then toner cartridge which, after inserting correctly would allow the door to close back. ... show more
