Ink quality is amazing. Crisp, clear, bright color contrast. Set up, [other than it's a little heavy and awkward removing from the box] was fairly simple. Connection initially kept dropping after going into sleep status. However, made a manual IP adjustment and that issue no longer happens. We are absolutely loving this printer. We came from a typical inkjet but I wanted a laser printer for speed and quality. We did significant amounts of research and felt that for the price this offered everything we could ask for. That being said, this printer is super fast and the color is beautiful on everything. I was up and printing faster than it took me to get the printer out of the box (you’ll spend more time taking all of the protective tape off than you will setting it up!). I like that you can insert photo paper and not worry about it being bent and/or getting stuck. Having printing on both front and back is also a nice bonus. It does show up under Air Printers. However, it will not show up when the printer is offline… even when it’s in sleep/standby mode (not sure why but it doesn’t always exit standby mode). For everything this does I don’t think you can beat the price. Our only concern is the cost of replacement cartridges. I see that they are readily available but they are $$$. I haven’t had to replace them yet so we’ll have to see just how efficient it is when it comes to ink usage. Perhaps the one area that could use some improvement is the app. The app is missing some basic functionality that other companies have (like access to certain locations of documents and images). I have also had some trouble resizing the image within the app. I get around this by opening it up on an editor and resizing it, then saving a copy and using that to print. This works but it isn’t the most ideal way to accomplish what is otherwise a very basic task. Important: if you’re looking for a small printer, this is NOT the one for you. It has a similar footprint to a standard inkjet printer, but it’s much taller and perhaps a bit wider depth-wise. You will need a dedicated space for this one. ... show more

    • Great printer - terrible WiFi

This printer is great - as long as you don't need it to be connected to WiFi. The prints come out fast and crisp. The app makes scanning to the cloud easy. Set up was easy. It's large, but that's the nature of a laser printer with scanner. The issue is it cannot stay connected to WiFi. As soon as it goes to sleep, it's off the network - so you can't even wake it up by sending it a print. Even going over to the printer and manually waking it up is no good, it won't reconnect without a full reboot. Very inconvenient, but who wants to repackage and return a huge printer? I resolved the issue by getting another router node and positioning it next to the printer so it could be hard wired to the network. Now it works flawlessly, no reboots required. Bottom line - do not get this printer if you need it to be on WiFi, but if you can run a LAN connection it's a great printer for the price. ... show more

Setup can be a challenge. Lack of a document feeder is a negative. Using Avery labels and cardstock requires changing various settings which is a burden and wastes time, and must be fed through a dedicated slot (Tray 2). B&W print quality is not as sharp as a dedicated B&W laser. Touch panel on printer can take you down a lot of rabbit holes. Had to use google AI to work through many issues. I have only had the unit a week so there is a learning curve that has to be navigated. ... show more

I have always ordered HP but had to try something new. Took a while to receive it. It is much bigger than my ink jet printers. It took some time to actually locate right drivers. Had to go to canon.com to obtain the correct drivers. After installing, I of course loved the color as compared with ink jet. I just have to more selective on what I print as toner is costly.
