The (GE) Cafe Couture Air Fryer Toaster Oven is constantly overlooked in many ranked search listings of top air fryer toaster ovens, and frankly I cannot see why. The top listed brand is praised for its build quality, rich features and looks, yet there are always consistent complaints of slow toast making and door closure problems. Cafe Couture excels at speedy toast making, delivering great color in 3-3.5 minutes. The door is nicely insulated with quality hinges that to me will not be affected by prolonged usage. The top brand has consumer reviews of being very loud, but the Cafe oven is quite tolerable, and below levels of my microwave. I have been using this oven for 4 months before posting a review, so my thoughts are those of a seasoned user. On the esthetics, this is a very attractive appliance. It fits an almost perfect size for my needs, although, a quarter sheet pan barely fits--but it does. The unit does not radiate exterior high heat as I have had with other models, but it's still hot. (I use the top as a plate warmer). The interior can be cleaned with care; keep the crumb tray wiped often, and wipe the glass often, and your experience will be better. The interior light is as good as I've seen. The rack is adequate, although I would rather have the the rack steel run vertical rather than horizontally for practicality. A useful heavier tray is included. A 12 inch pizza pan is included, along with an air fryer mesh tray. I give high marks to the timer on this oven. I bake potatoes for 2 hours @ 425 F and you'd be surprised at how many toaster ovens timers do not exceed 90 minutes. The Cafe does dehydration so the timer function is immense. I find that the oven comes up to temp rapidly--I'm ready to go after 2 minutes of preheating. I am new to the air fryer business, but I have had excellent results cooking frozen breaded shrimp and tater tots with an 8 minute range at 380F. I line the mesh tray with parchment paper--I do not like messes. The convection oven does a bang up job, and is quite even for salmon and other fish filets. The quick crisp feature is a real standout. If you want that crispy finish to nachos, cheeseburgers, etc., the oven makes fast work of the process. Button layout is nice, but function labeling is too small. The oven has several operational quirks: the round dials select function, time and temperature. They are not very tactile, and it's vey easy to have to redo your settings to get it right, but through use, you will get the feel of it. Also, with the exception of toasting, use must press the start button twice to get cooking. The first press engages preheat, the second press begins the cook. Awkward, yes. The oven is wi-fi enabled. I connected and installed the app to see its usefulness. It's good as a monitor. You can adjust time and temperature with the app, but you cannot initiate a cooking function. But it's there and it's free and you can register the product and they can track how you use it and so forth. Pricing has been all over the place for this oven. I bought from Amazon in a pre Thanksgiving sale; a week later my sister bought one for $40 less. I've seen some of the cooking stores sell this appliance for $150 more than I paid, so do your home work. Here in Dallas none of the 4 stores I visited to get a hands on view of the oven before buying so I had to do a lots of measuring and comparing specs before buying. I am pleased with the purchase and find the Cafe Couture highly versatile for a wide variety of cooking techniques. ... show more

I bought this toaster oven a few months ago. I was hesitant at first because I had never used a toaster oven before and wasn't sure if it would be worth the price since I also have an oven. However, after using it for a few months I can definitely recommend this toaster oven. I use it almost every day. I will be cooking something on my oven's cooktop and also have something cooking inside the toaster oven. I haven't used all the functions yet, but can comment on several that I have used. The toaster oven preheats for the bake function and it is much quicker than my full-size oven. It is nice to use in hot weather since the house isn't heated up by using the full-size oven. I have made homemade French fries a lot in the toaster oven and they turn out crispy and delicious. There is a crisp function that can be used at the end of any function and I use it to crisp up my French fries after they have baked. The other night I baked chicken thighs and added barbecue sauce when the bake cycle was done and used the broil function on High for a few minutes. It was the best chicken I have every made. I have found that I have to use a lower temperature on anything I make compared to if I was making it in my full-size oven. Also cook times are a lot faster. I also used the air fry function several times. I find that his toaster oven heats up and cooks quickly, so you have to watch what you are cooking or risk burning it. I made vegetable egg rolls in the air fryer and I thought they turned out too dry. I might have to experiment a bit more using the air fryer function though since I have never used one before. The toast function works well too when toasting bread, just be sure to watch that it doesn't burn. A recipe book is included with the oven but there are not any real instructions on how to use any of the functions. I looked online and could find nothing there either. Once you figure everything out though it is a really nice appliance and I would highly recommend buying it. I bought the matte black (looks more like a matte gray to me) and really like it. The inside is easy to clean. Just use a damp cloth or paper towel when it has cooled off after using and wipe off. It says not to touch the heating elements. There is also a slide-out tray below the unit that catches any crumbs and this can be completely pulled out and wiped off. ... show more
