Love this!! It was easy for me to assemble….. although I personally do not think this would withstand being out in the weather for a long time before deteriorating……the wood is not a hardwood. I bought this for indoor use though and am super happy.

    • Easy to put together; worth the money
Nicely made hutch. Good design, with several sections already assempled (like the front and back panels of the little "house" part). Nice hardware too (plus a few extra screws). It's not heavy (42#) but it feels sturdy. The instruction manual is excellent, so the hutch is fairly easy to put together. There are no pre-drilled holes for some of the pieces, but the holes in the panels had been drilled so it was pretty easy to just keep drilling down through the pieces that did not have pre-drilled holes. The only issue was that one wooden piece had split lenthwise, probably in transit, but we were able to glue it back together with Elmer's glue (which is actually certified nontoxic). There are some things I would change: • Each half of the roof opens outward. This is a big reason I bought this hutch, but one side blocks access to the flat part on the left side of the hutch. I ended up unscrewing that half of the roof and moving it down over part of that flat section, then screwed that in as best I could (the angle makes it hard to go all the way in). The rabbits like to rest on that flat part, and they're fine walking on that rough roof surface to jump in and out of the "house" part on the top right. I think it might help keep their nails ground down. • The flat part on the left is supposed to be screwed down, but I did not do that because I want access to all parts of the hutch. The nice thing is that the flat part sits securely on top of that tall section on the left. It doesn't move around at all, so it's safe for the rabbits to play on. All in all, this is a really nice little hutch. Comparatively, it was a good price too (although the shipping costs added quite a bit). ... show more
