I did a lot of research on Dymo XL, Rollo and Brother QL-1110NWB (this product). Since I primarily sell on Poshmark, I need to print usps 4 X 6 labels. I pretty much run my business from my iphone and hardly ever use my computer & wanted to print wirelessly. This brother printer is more expensive (almost double) than the first two mentioned. First I ordered the Rollo printer but once I got it I quickly realized few things that weren’t going to work. First, although the Rollo is the smallest of the 3, I didn’t like how the labels have to sit behind the machine. Just takes up unnecessary space that I don’t have to spare. Secondly, It didn’t print boldly. The barcode was dark but the customer & return addresses we’re patchy and faded looking. Lastly, I just decided I really didn’t want to have to go on to my computer to print address labels. Note: Before I returned, I did call rollo support (which you have to email & they call you) to try and fix settings and print darker but it didn’t work. I decided to make the splurge and buy the brother printer and I’m so happy I did. I was able to directly call the customer service # and they walked me through the set up. Now I’m printing directly from my phone no problem and this has changed my life! No more printing postage on printer paper, folding/cutting out and taping into package! I know you other resellers can feel my pain! lol The brother is just more compact with the roll of labels inside the machine. Prints boldly and prefect every time! I know I haven’t mentioned the Dymo but after reading/watching a ton of reviews, youtube videos the paper seems to jam a lot. I hope this review helps other Poshmark, Ebay, Etsy etc. sellers. I couldn’t find a lot of info on if this printer was compatible with Poshmark. Brother Customer service doesn’t even have PM listed on their compatible server list just the other big selling platforms. So I’m here to tell you it does work and worth every penny! Just be sure to buy the brother labels. I know you’ll be tempted to buy ‘compatible’ 4 x 6 labels but get the Brother ones. Using them will make your machine last longer and no paper jams. Before someone told us about 'Thermal Printers' we were printing on old 8.5x11 paper and taping the labels to the packages. When someone told us about 'Rollo'... I know i wanted one... no ink?? ever?? wow, what a great idea. Later found out that these have been around for a while now and thinking about it, my Ptouch brother machine has to be thermal because i never change the ink on it, just the paper reel... but I didn't know of an affordable kind for anyone... well, Rollo was going to be ours... until... we found out there's no WiFi or Blutooth!!! what?? 2020 and the Rollo design is set to 2010 when Iphones were still sort of new?? So, i looked around and found this one. A bit pricey, but it has Wifi and BluTooth. So easy. My wife sells alot on Poshmark and does her whole business on her iphone. going to a printer or having a laptop around to use the Rollo wasn't feasible, so with this Brother machine.... hooked up to a switched outlet... We turn on the outlet within seconds the brother printer joins the network and she can print labels from her phone to the printer. The labels come out very quickly and stick very well to any type of package. Our only complaint is the cost of the labels, therefore we found an alternative even though the quality of the labels is inferior... but who cares!! it's going to be discarded later on... But the printer is great. Highly recommended. 3rd party labels do work, so don't get discouraged by the cost of the labels there are alternatives out there. if for some reason your 3rd party labels don't work, just take apart the stock roll cartridge and re use it with the no name labels. I researched for a year before actually buying this, WHY because I am CHEAP! I read many wireless printer reviews and finally after a year I bought this. BEST INVESTMENT EVER. My Epson printer used so much ink cartridge, and it was one of those that I had to replace all 4 cartridge or it will not print what a waste of my money. Anyhow back to this printer, I did not read the user manual I normally don't b/c I hate reading instructions but I was able to set it up and print successfully in less than 20 minutes. I used my IPAD and it did everything flawlessly. I clicked to connect it to the printer blue tooth and boom, it printed perfectly. I am saving so much money using their printer paper that does not require any ink. Yeah the brothers paper cost more than the cheaper stuff but I believe in getting what you pay for quality. I am saving so much money from buying ink and also a lot of time. It's 100% wireless and easy to connect with my IPAD I will never go back to another printer. I sell on Ebay and Etsy and all my labels come out exactly right. I did not have to edit any size or anything. Just click print and boom there it is.     • Misleading Description of Abilities

I was looking forward to ditching laser or inkjet printers (and ink / toner costs) for shipping eBay & Amazon orders with a faster, smaller device. Even though this was about $100 more than similar devices, it had wireless connectivity so I planned to use it with my iPad. It wouldn't work. After 45 mins with Brother CS, they finally admit it won' work with a iOS remote devices, but it will if wired and if I download their software. I buy a used mac laptop, thinking this'll still be worth the savings in the long run. Load the software. Still doesn't work. CS tells me it must be wired to work correctly. I connect it. Still won't print eBay labels properly, cropping about 3/4 of image, making them useless. I spend hours googling, trying to make sure I have all the setting correct on my laptop and the printer, still no luck. Call CS again, and they finally admit you have to download every label and crop it (and it has to be EXACT or you'll lose crucial info, like part of the barcode) before printing. That's it, I'm out. If I wanted to do that much work, I never would've purchased it. Also why am I spending an extra $100 for features the item doesn't have? They may have changed the description of the item because if you look at negative reviews, many now cite these misrepresentation. A total waste of my time - don't get suckered like I did. Brother should be ashamed to make deceptive claims about performance features. ... show more

I have had the Dymo 4XL. It wasted paper and then stopped working after just a year. Then I purchased the Rollo, and while they had great customer service, the printer is of low quality, and the print is nearly unreadable even after trouble shooting. I thought after the Rollo, I was going to have to buy a Zebra ZD420, but then I noticed Brother had a newer model out. I looked at the specs, and it had THE BEST specs for the money. No one else but Zebra and other high end manufacturing label makers. The same specs from Zebra costs $780! The Brother has EVERYTHING! It even cuts the labels. My one issue is that you have to buy their labels, but honestly that doesn't matter to me now. My Dymo wasted 15 or so labels a week! Misprints GALORE! I have printed 6 labels now with the Brother and it has not wasted a SINGLE piece of paper. I would rather pay for labels that aren't wasted than labels that are. I had the ROLLO installed for 5 hours. It wasted 40 LABELS! 40! If this continues to function as it does today. It's hands down the best label printer out there. The labels are always properly centered. The text is clean and clear with no streaking. The labels are of good quality and very sticky. This is the new 4x6 label printer to beat! Dymo dropped the ball, and brother came to market with the best printer around. Yes its a few more dollars than the Dymo 4XL, but you get what you pay for. Wifi, Networking, USB, 300 PPI, Cutter! Simple to set up and use, WiFi connection works perfectly, labels print fast and look totally professional. This is the only label maker I use and is miles above the previous label printer I had. It's also nice and quiet and has a small footprint - perfect for my desktop. Well done, Brother!

    • Came In Busted Up Box- Poor packaging.

First of all, if I purchase something this expensive I expect it to arrive in a shipping box. This came in just the printer box itself and it was busted up and had holes. I am surprised the printer wasn’t damaged. If you are like me, you keep the box to everything. It helps when you move and it is nice if you ever need to pack it back up for any reason. I don’t appreciate the lack of packaging. I took off a star for that, but the printer itself is awesome! I have several Brother printers and they are all worth the money. The instructions are not very clear and won’t work with an iOS device. In order to use with iOS you have to use WiFi direct... Bluetooth will not work with iOS. If you don’t know what I mean, there are several great videos on YouTube that will help you much more than the included instructions. If you are using for Mercari your labels will not print in focus because Mercari sends label to you in 8x11 format and when you crop it, it looks distorted. The only way I could find to fix was to print from my pc. Which defeats the purpose of being able to print wirelessly. (I want to use my phone and have instant gratification, right?) SO I found (on Reddit) a site that will crop for you and it will still scan. It was called fbatech and you can drag and drop your label into it. It works for other selling platforms labels also. (Including Amazon) ... show more

Writing this in hopes it will help someone else, as I was unable to find this information when trying to set my printer up for the first time! The printer works great and will allow you to print shopping labels from 3rd party apps (e.g. Poshmark) directly from your phone. However, you can't do that through the Bluetooth connection -- you need to configure the printer and connect it to the same wifi network that your phone/tablet is connected to. To do this, you will need a laptop or computer. Once configured, your phone will be able to recognize the printer as an available AirPrint printer and you will be all set. I called Brother Customer Support and they were TERRIBLE! I had to talk to 3 people before I got to a person that could help me accurately diagnose the issue I was having. Essentially, the Bluetooth connection only helps you print labels from the Brother app. Any/all other labels from other apps require a wi-fi connection between the phone and the printer. The user manual also doesn't clearly explain this -- so, you are left guessing. The first two people I spoke with at Customer Support tried to tell me that their was a compatibility problem with the 3rd party app, which was not the problem. ... show more
