  • Brother Laser workhourse for our office
Style: Printer
Replaced my Epson, Canon. MFC-l8600cdw gets 5 stars.Ease of use speed and quality. I had this set up on my wireless network without USB or network cable in less than ten minutes.(Caution) Do not pick up this printer by yourself if you have ever had a back problem! This exceptional printer is not all that big considering how heavy it is. Menu settings interface is sleek and easy compared to my previous printers. We stopped Faxing years ago so I did a custom install when loading software drivers as this makes the interface less cluttered with useless fax options. Scanner is 5 star for speed quality and ease of use.We scan all documents and this was important. Touch screen is pleasant on the eyes and easy on the fingers. After all the other nightmare printers with inferior software and downtime for our office I felt compelled to write this. The color print quality is good for drafts or business and not inkjet quality for framing on a wall at home. This was expected. Our inkjets clog and cost much more to use. Bottom line it works and works and works and works well! ... show more

  • intuitive | simple | smart!

Small business/Big idea tech person here who needed to upgrade to a dependable color laser printer/scanner because my last machine (1.5 year old Canon imageCLASS MF8380CDW) was a nightmare from Day 1. Nightmare meaning I went through 3 replacements under their warranty (one created a crease in printed pages, another did something else, but the worst part was their software and scanning was just painful), so good riddance. Enter Brother MFC-L8600CDW (my first Brother :) just arrived today and wow! Unpacking and setup was a breeze, it included real toner cartridges (vs. starter cartridges like Canon), it's 20lbs lighter than the old Canon, clean lines, easy on the eyes, and like an iPhone: ONE button! It's the power button, everything else is touch. I connected via Wifi, used Google Cloud Print, downloaded the iOS app, looking forward to using AirPrint, and scanning is a snap. Too bad though, it does not brew coffee ;-) Back in business thanks to Brother! ... show more

Style: Printer
Just got this printer about a week ago and it was easy to install. We use mac's so don't know about PC's but it was a snap to use. I did not use the usb cord to connect to my computer (although it is recommend) but it worked perfectly anyway. The color is good (not photo quality) but fine for most purposes. It does have one little (not important) feature; after printing, it is a little difficult to grab the printed copes out of the slot. That is just so minor, just mentioned because it is the only negative feature we have found. The size was exactly as described and be prepared to lift a very heavy printer when it arrives. Also, it arrived exactly on time. ... show more

  • Absolutely Unbeatable Deal!
This review is for the refurbished model of this printer. It showed up in a box clearly labeled as factory refurbished from Brother. Other than that you wouldn't know it's not new. When I fired it up and printed out the settings/demo page it showed around 1000 pages on the life counter but the toner cartridges and everything else showed zero so it's obviously been refreshed back to new other than the counters. Fast time to first page and good paper handling. Some people have commented that it can be loud but all of the Brother printers I have owned are about the same. They definitely have their own sound but it's much more like a larger copier unit. I like it personally. Sounds like it's much more substantial than the cheap desktop laser printers. I still have some Brother lasers that are 10+ years old going strong. Can't say the same for the HP and Samsung ones I've owned. The only reason I took off a star is the print quality when doing photos isn't the best. I realize it's not going to be inkjet on photo paper good but there are some slight issues with grayscale and gradients. Looks great when doing flyers and other solid color work though. For my day to day office purposes it's a great machine. ... show more

Style: Printer
The Brother Printer MFCL8600 Wireless Color Printer with Scanner, Copier, and Fax worked well... until the tech support and return policy expired. Almost immediately our office began noticing the print jobs were taking longer to print and the machine would take time to "think" every couple of pages before continuing to print the remainder of the document. Despite the fact that our internet signal to the machine is fantastic, the delay in print jobs is detrimental to the work our office conducts making this product utterly useless to our fast-paced work environment. The paper trays can only accommodate 10 pages otherwise it starts pushing pages off the machine, mixing, curling and wrinkling pages before they fall to the floor. Employees are having to stand at the machine for the entirety of the larger jobs to ensure the pages remain in order and presentable. This printer will not stay programmed for scan to folder processes and actually has erased some of the user profiles while few remain saved. All software and drivers read up-to-date therefore we shouldn't be experiencing issues like this, for such reasons, we cannot recommend this product. We are extremely disappointed with the expiration of tech support and are not surprised that the return policy expired so quickly considering how quickly this product fell apart. ... show more
