I like everything about the printer. The only bad thing is that I don't have a better place to set the printer so I have to set it near the computer which I don't like to do but I have no choice. That has nothing to do with the printer, the printer is wonderful. I have the printer set up on a home network and we have 4 computers in the house which we use daily. Any of the computers can use the printer and we like that a lot. It was simple to connect the printer to the network and everything works perfectly. Setup was simple, a child could do it. The menu is pretty simple to use, it is very intuitive and there is a decent manual in case you run into a problem. This machine scans in color which I really like, and if I need to copy a colored page I can can the page and then print the scanned image with my color laser printer. I rarely ever need to print color though, probably 99 percent of the printing I do is just text. I rarely need to send a FAX but now I have that capability. I have not tried to do that yet, but i did play with it a little and it seems to be fairly straight forward. I like the fast speed that it can print, not that I am a business with a lot of fast printing needs, but when I need several pages printed I like to get the job done and this printer prints out pages VERY fast. I would highly recommend this printer to home users or for a small business. It would work OK for a larger business too, assuming you don't need color. ... show more

    • Do not buy a Brother Printer if you have a MAC

The printer appears to be of high quality and it is sold as an all-in-one laser printer. (print/copy/scan/fax) Brother provides a CD with drivers on it but none of them will work on the MAC after o/s 10.15 (Catalina). They provide a separate app that will let you print and scan. However that have NO apps and NO drivers for FAXING using my MAC. Their support team said "Brother printers will send and receive Faxes. The confusion is that you want a driver on your Mac computer that will control faxing on the Brother printer. The Printer will not support faxing using a MAC computer but you'll be able to send and receive faxes directly from the Brother printer (assuming you want all your incoming faxes printed in hard copy form from the printer." Brother is misrepresenting the functionality of how faxes are processed by not explaining this limitation to buyers of their printers. ... show more

Easy to setup, easy print driver install and the office staff were able to use it right away. One thing that stood out for me was the fact that staff can use it to Scan to USB to digitize documents when needed. This is the backup I wanted in the event our Main AIO Scan to email was down until it could be repaired, without spending thousands. It really is a great product at this price point!     • Changing file name for scanner is a pain.

Overall a solid scanner/printer. A major plus is that it can scan 2 sided documents. The major pain is changing the file name of the document you are scanning. I gave up and just scan it and change the file name afterwards once it's in My Documents or Desktop.

This is a great printer. I took it out of the box, pluged it in and it works great. Easy set up. I got the monochrome (black and white) printer because that's all I need and didn't want to mess with the color.

These printers are excellent. The users like it, I like it due to low cost of operation and maintenance. I find them running better than the competitor offering. I have many Brother Mono Lasers in operation and have yet to have any major issues, regardless of how much the users abuse it.
