  • This thing works Great!
I've had a full color laser printer made by Brother of years so when my B&W laser printer died, after a lighting strike , I bought this. It does everything but make coffee. I decided to connect it to my Ethernet/WiFi router using a Ethernet cable and not use it's WiFi connection ability. I've got Too Many WiFi things running already, I think ;-) The totally best thing about this setup is: I can print to this printer using a iPhone ! WOW... It's a little hard to find but if you scroll all the way down on your phone to the bottom of the "send this to somebody" icon it shows "Print" COOL ... show more

  • Seems a good unit... let's see how it holds up
I bought this to replace a roughly five-year-old HP all-in-one unit. That unit was showing signs of age and I had continual problems with HP's drivers (particularly dealing with functions such as scanning and duplex printing). This printer got good reviews from the tech mags and the price point was reasonable, so I purchased one. My one current concern with it is that it seems somewhat lightly built; all printers in this niche are primarily plastic but the plastic here (items such as paper trays and the like) seem to be a bit under-gauged. We'll see how it holds up. It's also too soon to tell how much goodness one can get out of a toner cartridge. As for the positives: I found the setup process to be a breeze, and adding a second computer to its wireless connection was a snap (once I figured out the manufacturer-supplied password). All very, very good. The functions I've used with it work nicely. The machine has good printing speed and is a lot quieter in operation than my HP. Print quality is good. All in all, I'm favorably impressed, and think it's a reasonable choice for home office/small office settings that need a basic all-in-one unit that won't break the bank. ... show more

  • Works great
I work in IT. We buy these for smaller offices and people home computers. This is our preferred printer as most everyone has no problems getting it installed and working. I have bought over 20 of these so far over the years, and we have not had one that had a problem, or needed to be RMA.

  • Very disappointed
There really aren’t words for how much I hate this printer. I had a similar one at my previous job, and loved it. This printer is garbage. It will only print if the right amount of paper is in the tray. If it has one sheet too much or too little, it says that there is NO paper, even though there is plenty. It happens often, and at the worst possible time. Don’t waste your money. ... show more

  • Changes in this printer
This is my second MFC-L2710DW Brother combination printer. My first, a 4 1/2 year printer died yesterday of an apparent power supply failure. I have had problems in the last year keeping it tied to my wireless network for printing. I have a second Epson ET-4760 color printer on the network too. It does great copies and printing but the scanner is second rate. I mostly used the Brother scanner because of how quickly it processed documents. Though the new exact replacement I purchased today is quieter than the old, it is slower in the scanning process. It’s still a good printer, copier. The software used to file the scans is not as simple as HP photo printers and not near as time consuming used by Cannon. I have both of these wrapped up sitting on a shelf in the garage. ... show more

  • A ethernet cord should have been included. Only because of Amazon did I end up paying$162 more.
I love Brother printers and had intended to get a color printer at some point. However my computer crashed big time and I thought had destroyed my current printer so I bought a new printer after trying for over 2 weeks to get it to work. I learned I did not need a new printer. By accident, I learned USB cables can be deceiving and while tech support might realize a USB port is “specific” to a particular function, the client might not. When directed to plug in the ethernet to the printer it was like a square, so no problem. The problem is plugging the other end in the USB port. I thought all USB slots were the same and my computer had several USB ports, all the same size so I just plugged it in. Everything worked just fine. Later I unplugged the USB to untangle the cords and plugged it back into one of the USB slots and lost the internet. I used a magnifier and flashlight to look at the ports and discovered a USB port labeled USB; a USB port labeled Ethernet; and a USB port labeled HDMI. I connected mt new printer using my old computer ethernet cord!!!! ... show more
