Think this broom will work well to pick up animal and human hair (our family has two long-haired cats and an Australian Shepherd in addition to a short-haired cat and a short-haired dog). My husband is concerned that it won't replace a regular broom because the handle is a bit wobbly. He says he likes to be able to exert pressure on the handle. Speaking of assembly, though, I had my six-year-old grandson (who is also hairy) assemble the broom and dustpan! Assembly is easy!

A number of Amazon reviewers have called this broom/dustpan set "flimsy". It's a LOBBY broom, folks. It's midway between the kiddie broom sets a kid can use and the heavy duty one your contractor buddy uses to sweep up concrete dust. It's designed for light duty, sweeping up random dust, dead bugs and food your kid(s) dropped on the floor. It works very well on ceramic tile and wood floors, a bit hit or miss on rugs (hey my vacuum broke, don't judge me!) It folds up nicely and can be easily stored hidden out of the way when you're finished. I hesitated to buy this reading complaints about the lip of the dust pan, but my experience has shown that 90% of the waste goes easily into the pan the first time you try and sweep it in. I find that acceptable. Very good value for the money.

I bought this item mainly for the price, as the description was comparable with other same like items. Putting it together was pretty easy. However the bin handle really should be threaded better so as to let the hook handle lign up the correct way to store the two items. To make it sync up with the broom to make standing in a corner or hanging would be easier. As it is the item is so light weight (good in some respects) it falls over instead of the bin holding the broom in place. I used a 3m Command Broom and Mop Gripper, Damage Free Hanging Wall Mount Broom and Mop Holder to hang it up so as not to cause it to fall over in storing away. To its great advantage though, the broom sweeps up everything, there is no missed pieces of dust, cat fur etc that is left after a sweep. And the raised handle for the bin is very helpful for people with bad backs, bad hips or knees, or more importantly post knee or hip replacement surgery. If I'd known better I would have ordered this or a similar time some time ago before the hip replacement, to put off that surgery a little longer, using a helpful cleaning tool like this.

Lightweight but not sturdy and parts aren’t labeled so I needed to rearrange parts to get all to fit right. If you are use to a sturdy, heavy duty broom then you will be disappointed with this flimsy broom. I do like the dustpan so you don’t have to bend down every time.

I had bought two of these. I needed one for a work room and one for the living area the base the little rubber part at the end it’s supposed to come close to the ground to sweep in crumbs or like in my work room flakes of Styrofoam does not pick them up. I have trouble that handle keeps wanting to come apart. My son has come over. Hopefully he’s figured that out. I’m only keeping one only because I use the one and I want to be fair because I did see where it is of family owned business and I don’t want to destroy the business. I just needed something to work. I’ll put this one in a yard sale, but I am returning one.

I will admit that I bought this for the lovely aqua blue color. It is an extremely cute set, and it fits in with my late grandmother's decor. It was her favorite color! That being said, it is a nice set for lightweight sweeping jobs inside the home rather than heavier jobs involving gravel or pebbles, etc. I would recommend a metal standing dustpan and a heavier quality broom for jobs like that. It's ideal for a disabled person such as myself. I had no trouble carrying it downstairs. The broom and the dustpan attach together and can be stored comfortably in most closets. I quite like the bent holder on the dustpan; it makes it comfortable and easy to grip. The broom has soft bristles and is perfect for indoor, lightweight jobs. The assembly directions--as some other reviewers have noted--are in very small print. I recommend a magnifying glass or good reading spectacles to see them clearly. One helpful hint is that the two 'C' pieces have dark ends on them. It helps to differentiate from the similar 'D' and 'F' pieces. Also, the curved handle is for the dustpan and the straight handle is for the broom. The broom handle was shipped on the wrong end of the 'F' handle, but I figured it out! I recommend this adorable product for basic household jobs. I'm very glad that I bought it!

What can I say? It's a broom and dustpan. Gets the job done. I like the color and the dust pan. I like that I can scoop it all in and have the little clear pull off any extra hair while also keeping my broom in good condition and preventing bristles from curling. I also like that they attach so they stay neatly together. My only issue is that the parts screw off of each other very easily, so I am left with half a broom sometimes trying to clean lol.
