It's a great brooder box, the instructions were straightforward and it took less than a half an hour to assemble. The lid on top makes it really easy to access everything, clean everything out, and refill. It's spacious and allows movement. Ventilation ports on the side to allow constant airflow. The only design flaw and downside is the thermometer, you can only read it if you look at it from a very specific angle.

This is pretty nifty. A little challenging to put together for one person. Holding and putting it together, need another arm. But that’s not the fault of the product. All holes aren’t pre drilled but wood is soft. All materials, plus extras included. It looks good. It is not for outdoor use. Including the waterproof pads for the bottom is a nice touch. Good size. I have seven brand new chicks in it. They will be fine until it’s time for them to be at lower temp with more space. Light works well and the temperature adjustment is easy. All in all I am extremely pleased.

I love the fact it has the slide in plastic front design makes it easy to clean and spray out to keep disinfectant, which with bird flu crap it makes me more at ease to be able to keep my babies clean. I also see many people that worried about the temperature not being able to be kept high enough for the youngest chickens. I have a temperature gun and have found it to be warm enough for them. The assembly was so easy, my husband had it together in less than 10 min. The value was the best as it comes complete with light and a few pads to get you started. It is very sturdy and built great. Highly recommend it for families that are starting their own back yard flock. I would say 6 chickens is the max I would put in and they will have to be moved to a larger tote but that will be well after they need to be kept so warm.

Functionality it works just fine, kept our chicks very comfortable for 2 weeks, unfortunately the size is a bit small. Description says it will accommodate up to 20 chicks comfortably, I had 7 and they out grew it in two weeks. The little thermometer on the outside is virtually useless, but all and all it provided a great environment for 2 weeks.

This is a nice starter box but only if you plan on having your chicks inside. Would not leave outside on a patio or porch, too easy for any predator to take this apart. Fairly easy to assemble but for sure use your own high quality screwdriver as the little one included hurts the hands. Had to pre-drill the holes, and the wood is soft and thin. This isn't for keeping your chicks long term (obviously) but it's a great baby environment, as long as it's kept somewhere safe. Pretty sure my cats can just bust this thing right open. Not sure the bulb will be warm enough, have it turned up as high as it will go and it says it's 76 degrees. Will keep working with it. It does look nice though!
