They are made from durable plastic instead of glass bulbs so it makes them even more durable in inclement weather. 1 strand was a great length and covered the majority of my backyard. I put these outside along the inside edge of my fence. They're pretty bright, but won't light up the center of your yard if it's more than 10-15 feet from the fence. They've lasted about 2 years now outside the entire time. Some bulbs have broken from weed wackers and whatnot and the rest still work well. It's on a smart timer, so they automatically turn on for a few hours at night several nights a week every week.

I can say that this is really bright, so far has worked without issue, and was easy to setup (so does not come tangled). If I had a wish I would probably have wanted one with adjustable brightness, but as-is I still recommend as it is very pretty, looks awesome, and stands out. I have had ones that were less bright and honestly I wished they were brighter. This one I am fine with, it isn't so bright you can't look at them, it just really makes it easy to see outside where they are located.
