All the reviews look good and went ahead with the purchase.. overall was ok initially but it barely lasted 6 months before it just died and had to throw them out. Maybe not reliable enough for regular use. Update 10/11: reached out to customer service.. got very prompt reply.. sending a replacement unit. Will let know once received Update 10/19: bumped up my rating to 4 stars.. great customer service.. received the replacement unit for defective solar panel which was under warranty and lights now work great.

Todays algebra question: I have purchased 5 strings and placed them along the fence in my backyard. Each string has been strategically placed so the solar panels would get equal (and significant) direct light for charging. 1 of the strings (which happens to be the newest one purchased) is barely lit up at night and completely fades much sooner than the rest. Other than this 1/5 failure rate, I have really enjoyed these lights. They are typically very bright, and stay lit for several hours- I have woken up for midnight dog potty breaks and the lights are still on. Except that one string. They’re very easy to install and get going, just don’t forget to switch them on before hanging them up.

Remember...these are solar!! They look good, easy to install, just disappointed in the brightness. If you want ambiance lighting, these are ok. If you need task lighting, buy electric.

I bought them hoping they would add some light under a canopy while camping. They don't really give off much light. They are nice for adding ambiance I guess since the lights themselves light up, just be aware that they aren't going to illuminate much around them. Decorative but not really functional to light a space.
