I purchased these lights to go around a fire pit for some added light but didn’t want it to be too bright. These lights are perfect as they are the perfect ambient lighting. They do not attract insects and do not light up the yard enough where neighbors would be bothered. I purchased the 48 feet which has 15 lights and this was just enough to cover my entire area. The light cord appears to be durable and has some weight to it. The bulbs are plastic but appears to be glass due to the clarity. Each bulb has a notch at the top of the cord which could be easily zip tied if you needed them to be more secure or even if you wanted to use a wire to make hanging at higher heights more aesthetically pleasing. The solar case is quite large and comes with a stake and clip for securing. I used the clip and attached it to the top of one of the poles just to offer extra sunlight to it during the day. The weather has been quite over cast recently and the lights continue to come on every night. I plan on taking them down during the winter months so I am hoping they will last for at least a few years. I was going to purchase the same lights from Home Depot but these were a few dollars cheaper on Amazon and the delivery was a day compared to a week at Home Depot. I would definitely purchase these again and hope this review helps with making a decision if they are right for you. Update: I’ve had these for a year now. I did not take these down during the winter and they are still going strong. The clarity of the bulbs remain good and no problems with them coming on at night. Wisconsin winters can be brutal. Update: year two and still going strong!

Start off by saying I hardly ever write reviews (probably less than 10 in my life), but I love these lights. We started off by putting them on our deck, which create a warm feel rather than provide a lot of light (last pic). In fact, if you have decent ambient light from anything, the amount of light you get from these will hardly be noticeable. However, we liked these so much that we bought an additional set to either bring with us or put a second set on our deck and string it further. We’ve since morphed that into camping trips and a teenager’s sleepover party. The girls loved it in their little area downstairs. The camping trip is where we benefited most from this. We just had to disconnect the solar panels and take them with us during the day so they could charge though. The pictures attached have a long exposure so the light isn’t actually that bright, but bright enough to help anyone that needed to get up at night and find their way around. If you’ve been tent camping with minimal moonlight, you know what I mean. These are perfect for that. Overall, these are fantastic. Easy to set up, we take them with us, and they look great. The battery will last throughout the night easily. Weather has been no issue at all. As I mentioned before, the only con is that it doesn’t generate as much light as I would’ve liked, but the payoff would probably be less battery life.

These look so good I gave one to a friend as a gift in my mom. Attached another set to her house and a beautiful zigzag and it just looks so cozy out her back windows. They’re not extremely bright because they’re solar, but I like that it just gives you the ambience.

INITIAL REVIEW - I love these lights, they were super easy to install, the solar power is accurate as it states, it poured down rain today and sure enough, they’re weatherproof, there wasn't any water inside the bulbs, they produce a nice soft glow and they look great. No complaints. *************************************************** UPDATE 12/26/2020: One strand of these lasted 6 months and is no longer working, I’m extremely disappointed because I loved it! Water and condensation ended up getting in some of the bulbs. *************************************************** UPDATE 5/25/2021 I was so upset and disappointed my lights died after 6 months but I reached out to Brightech customer service and they were excellent! The Brightech rep understood the issues I was having and emailed me a list of things to try, she narrowed it down to a bad solar panel and mailed me a replacement one under warranty. I let the solar panel charge for a day after attaching it to the bad strand and now they all work and I have a beautifully lit outdoor space again! I asked the rep if she had any suggestions on how to remove the condensation and water and she suggested that I simply twist the bulb out of its socket, remove any water and wipe the inside dry. I felt really silly because I tried that to begin with and one was stuck, so I wasn't sure if it was removable and was afraid that if I pulled on it, it would break. I went back out to try and sure enough, the bulb came off, I emptied any water, wiped them dry and now they're perfect again! Give these lights a try, if you have any issues, reach out to customer service to see if they can help, I had success and now I'm very happy with the lights again!

Bought March 2024, June 2026 still going strong! Have done zero maintenance, they went up immediately, survived plenty of weather, easy to hang although looking a bit droopy now due to how I hung them - we have 4 strands and no issues: all bulbs working, they crank on every night, we don't use the remote so I can't speak to that. Reliable warm light for visiting on the porch into the evening and for while the kids are playing out in the yard after dusk. Will buy more as yard expands and will continue to recommend!

These were not as bright as I was expecting. It a huge issue, but I use them around my fire place and they flicker really bad. Even when the fire is not that bright. Would be good for a deck, but not ideal for a fire pit.
