I enjoy having a cocktail that is above the average experience. I like infused spirits, and really like going to local craft distilleries and seeing how they combine certain alcohols with certain other flavors. I recently was at a distillery where the bartender smoked a glass of wine. I love wine and this was amazing. Later, I enjoyed a bourbon, smoked with applewood. It was so good. I decided to get a kit to use at home. My sons enjoy creating special drinks, so this seemed a natural thing to have in our home bar. We were not disappointed by this kit. I was impressed by the quality of the wood smoker unit, how finished and polished it was. It looked like I'd been using it for years and really gotten a nice wear finish on it. But it was brand new. I was also impressed by the selection of smoking chips, and how much I got in each tin. Everything about this kit was impressive. I have used it a few times in the past few weeks. I have smoked a glass of wine, a glass of bourbon and a glass of vodka. I continue to look for recipes for ways to elevate the smoked cocktail experience and feel like this is something that upgrades your home bar set up. The kit is stored in a lovely wood box, with a nice aged finish. The items have their own designated molded places in the insert, preventing things from shifting and spilling. My only complaint is that this is marketed as "gifts for men." Ladies are allowed to enjoy a well-crafted cocktail, lol. ... show more

Set came well-packed and organized in the wooden box. Instructions are a little lacking, but easy to figure out. Piece-by-piece review: Wood chips: these are great; you will only want to use about 1/4 of the spoonful, they really mean “a pinch”. This supplies an abundance of smoke that really leaves a lot of flavor in your drink. Granite Cubes: These didn’t quite live up to my expectations. I chilled 2 of them over night in the freezer, and they only lowered my drink temperature by 10 degrees, and within 20 minutes, it was warm again. Silicone Ice Mold: Easy to fill; didn’t leak; had an excellent ball after chilling over night; the ice ball quickly chilled my drink by 35 degrees and the cube lasted for over an hour. Lighter: seems to be great quality and functions well. You’ll want to set both lighter controls about 1/2 way. Too high will give you a gigantic flame and too low you will have trouble lighting. Oak covers and screen: The oak covers really lock in the smoke in the glass. The screen seems well-made and is easy to clean. I’ve never had one of these before this, and now I love it! ... show more

This is a really special kit that proves you care about whoever you give it to, even if it's yourself. Every part of this smoker kit is designed to make you feel comfortable and was designed with care. The OCD person in me loves that everything has a place in the box and nothing moves around. The box itself is also beautiful and comes with everything you need (except flammable gas) and some things you didn't think you would. Like - Box design and craftsmanship - Humorous and brief info sheets - Everything is well-labelled I can't think of any improvements for this smoker kit, it really does have everything you need to get started. However, they can't ship butane so if you're giving this as a gift also make sure there's a can of butane in the bag or box so they can get started making cocktails right away. What are you waiting for? Order up, get that butane, and fire up your favorite mixology stream on your streaming platform of choice, you'll be drinking awesome smokey cocktails in no time! ... show more
