  • Outstanding Customer Support
Style: 1.32 GPM
I have 2 of these units in my remote cabin in Ontario CA. They work awesome as stated in the description and supply a constant supply of warm to hot water depending on your needs. Do not hesitate to purchase one of these as if you should have any issues their customer service team will take care of you. Super water heater, excellent value and 5 star+ customer service. ... show more

  • Like it, on demand and enough flow for showers
Style: 1.32 GPM
I thought it was going to suck and not have enough water flow for a good shower but so far it's working great. Put in a semi-trailer turned tiny home. We aren't using a pump, just a garden hose. Runs on D volt batteries and is on demand...there is no on or off switch that I can find. It senses the water flow and heats up the water instantly. ... show more

  • Bought two of these-both failed-UPDATED
Style: 1.32 GPM
I have always been one to try and give credit where credit is due. I got off to a rocky start with the Camplux portable water heater, and still don't know why the unit failed. I guess I'll keep it for spare parts. However, Camplux support got involved and were responsive to my issues. Unable to solve my problem over the phone with tech support, they sent me a new heater. So far so good. When these heaters work, they work well. I hope to enjoy this one a little longer. I will add that one needs to be really careful when the temperatures start to dip down towards freezing. Per the owner's manual, I drained the heater as instructed by unscrewing the drain plug. It turns out that was not nearly enough. I got up to a shattered shower head and broken water line on the side of the heating element. Fortunately, I had another shower head and was able to solder the break without too much effort. Now that fall is here at 7,000', I not only drain the unit, but remove the water source, disconnect the hot water outlet to the shower head, and run the unit out of water till it is drawing air and no longer discharging water. And for good measure remove the shower head as I had a second one break even with the hot water hose disconnected and drained. As I said, so far so good. It's nice to have a functioning (and our only) shower again. So, Kudos to Camplux support staff for standing behind their product. I would give them four stars for their support and ultimately resolving the problem. Thanks. So, I purchased two of these units for a four-day outdoor wedding on our property in CO. I installed one in a shower I built, and the other in a makeshift kitchen. We were feeding (and washing dishes for) approximately 35 guests for the weekend. The unit I installed in the kitchen worked briefly then failed right in the middle of the party-No clicking sound, no hot water. To say this was a major inconvenience would be an understatement. The other one in the shower is now failing: the hot water hose that came with the unit for the shower head is about to explode in multiple places and the unit no longer produces hot water. It clicks, fires up, the water flows, but even on the maximum gas setting the water is warm at best. Yes, there is adequate propane to both units, they both new batteries, and adequate water pressure via RV water pumps. I am using the shower heads provided. I have been trying to work with the support folks at Camplux and though they seem willing to trouble shoot, I still have two of these heaters and neither one works properly. They were going to send me a new micro switch, but tracking says the switch hasn't even been shipped yet. The wedding was on August 26, 2023. I have been disappointed with these heaters and will be looking for an alternative as I still need two more for our winter residence south of the border. I would suggest doing your own research and looking into possible alternatives. ... show more

  • Stopped working very early--awful customer service
This is our second one of these. Our first one lasted for several years, but one we bought less than three months ago has already stopped igniting. We've used it less than 10 times. Full propane tank, plenty of water pressure, new batteries...waste of money. I emailed Camplux describing the problem. They called me promptly, but I was not able to talk at the time (taking the kids to town, plus I was not in a position to go through troubleshooting). We decided on a day for them to call back. They did--at 6:30 in the morning (they claimed they were in eastern time zone but I don't believe it). My wife answered and asked them to call back in two hours. They did not. The next day I got an email asking me to rate my customer service experience as if it had been completed (which, in my opinion, had not). Today I returned to the site to check on any warranties (there are none). I clicked on the "support" button and found that my account had been suspended (see attached photo). As if it isn't obvious, it's just another brand selling junk that usually works but sometimes doesn't, and customer support doesn't matter when you have the cheapest product on the market. As for the heater itself, I checked everything--I measured my water pump flow (which was more than sufficient) and switched out parts from a previous heater (same model), put in new batteries, tried other propane regulators, and used a brand new propane tank. For starters, the propane solenoid on the new heater wasn't working. After putting a replacement in, it started clicking again, and even lit once (briefly) but stopped working. Water flows, I get a spark, but no flame. Propane is not moving through the system. ... show more
