For Sacramento hot climate, this blanket worked perfectly. Last year my pool averaged 75-78 degrees for the summer, this year with the blanket it got up to 88 degrees! So I’ve been going back and forth with leaving the blanket on and keeping it off to maintain a comfortable pool temp. I’ve only had it for a few months so I don’t know about durability. So far it’s held up well and hasn’t broken down, but for the price, I’d be willing to buy a new one each summer just for the ease, price, and heating efficiency. Solar blanket was good at first. kept the water warmer than expected. Con was it barely made it through one season. A bunch of the little bubbles are popping and the blanket has tears all over. It was stored inside during the off season out of the sun and elements. I was disappointed about that. Hope this review helps someone. ... show more

I read so many reviews on solar covers before I made a decision to buy this one. At first I was intimidated by the size of it. My pool is an Intex 18x18 Ultra frame. However, it went on quickly, after I got the method that works best for me, which is to pull it off after I have rolled it up kind of tightly and then when I put it back on, I just unroll it and push it as I go. I stand in one spot and can get it back on in less than one minute. I do cover the pool back up right when we are done to make sure it is holding the temps of the water in. I have the pool on a silver tarp, which catches heat really well and projects it towards the sides of the pool, which I think helps. I had this cover on and the pool did heat up, like other reviewers said, only the first several inches on top and then the rest of the pool was full of cold spots. After swimming around the pool would be between 72-76 degrees. I had to change my filter and messed with the filter timer and turned it on earlier in the day, around 10am, whereas before, it was running at night. This made ALL the difference in the world. The pool is now a constant 80 degrees and not one cold spot. I had been waiting for it to 'heat' up before and now I can get in earlier in the morning. We live in the mountains in Oregon and for the last two days it has been cloudy and we had our first rain today in more than a month, zero sun and the temp outside was 68 degrees at 4pm and the pool was at 79 degrees. I don't use any other cover on the pool, so the top does collect some tree bits, which I end up skimming. The cover does fit all the way edge to edge and I didn't trim it, it didn't seem worth the hassle and it is doing its job. I was hesitant because of the mil, thinking I wasn't getting a thick enough one, but after having to put it on and take it off, I wouldn't want to fool with anything else heavier. This solar cover works better than my previous one! I previously had an Intex solar cover which ripped after 1 year of use. I found this one and decided to try it after reading the reviews. So far so great! It actually worked too well! After a very hot week (irregular hot temperatures for my area 100+) the pool felt like a sauna. Basically it does what it should very well and actually a little larger than the whole pool (larger than the size I ordered) which works out great because it also helps keep debris out of the pool when it rains. ... show more

    • Great pool cover, much warmer now.
I bought this for my Intex 18' round easy up pool. It does it's job, the water is noticeably warmer with this cover on, probably 10-15 degrees. The cover is slightly larger than my pool surface, but I think that has more to do with the pool not being set up on level ground and therefore not being a perfect, or full, circle. The quality seems more than acceptable for an item that will be moved on a regular basis. I will review at the end of the summer to speak to the durability. I would definitely buy this again as it is much better than the silly pool cover that came with the pool. ... show more

We bought this last summer. Kept it on the pool at all times unless we were swimming and always kept it in shade when not in use. Stores it inside for winter. With a coii you ple of weeks this summer in quite literally disintegrated. The bubbles started to fall off, and it ripped and tore in multiple places. I purchased the solar cover of May 2022. It worked great until it started to fall apart and when you touched it. The cover was so brittle than you couldn’t crab it. I started seeing these Little blue dots and come to find out they were part of the cover. They got stuck in my filters and made it very difficult to keep clean. I did remove the cover now waiting on warranty dept to send me a new one. ... show more
