Description

In-Ground Winter Cover with 12-Year Warranty. This Defender mid-priced cover has all of the strength and durability to ensure years of winter protection. Heavier woven polyethylene scrim and coating make this 12 Year cover strong and able to withstand wind, sleet and snow. Defender covers are U.V. stabilized to protect it from the harmful effects of the sun. It features a black underside to retard algae growth and heat sealed seams to ensure a crystal clear pool next spring. The Defender 12-Year cover comes with loops every four feet to secure water bags, and corner grommets allow for extra tie down in windy areas. The cover is 5 feet longer and wider than the pool size, and comes in a in forest green with a black underside. This Defender cover is backed by a 12 year warranty (2 years full rated).

Bought a size bigger than I needed just in case I needed the extra length/width. Folded the extra on top and put 8 foot water cells around the border. The cover also has evenly spaced grommets if needed. Really happy with the purchase and peace of mind.

    • Good for what it is:

My last green one lasted at least ten years. The trick is to follow the directions, meaning putting enough of the tarp into the pool so that it doesn't get stretched tight. It's not meant to hold water weight, it's just meant to keep pool water and dirty pool cover water separated.

It's pictured with water tubes that aren't included, but I bought those separately and it went on easily and supported the weight of my 10 pound puppies when they jumped on it. It was wide enough to go around my permanent ladder and we used clamps on the bars to hold it in place. Big tree limbs have fallen on it from storms, but it seems to be holding up. The cost compared to paying for service through winter is well worth it. I don't know if it will last longer than a year or what it will take to get the pool ready when spring comes around, but I'm optimistic and happy that all of the bugs that are on top won't be in there. ... show more

This is my second Blue Wave 12 year cover and the first one only served me three winters in NC where the winters aren't brutal at all. This cover seems Iike it may even be thinner than the first one. If I can get three winters out of this one then I'll be pleased since that computes to $20/year to keep my pool water crystal clear. ... show more

5 stars would make this product perfect. However, the warranty is a sub-par, PRORATED, 12 year. 2 years is all you will receive as an unconditional warranty. Misleading, but hopefully will be upheld if I should need it to be instated. It also states that postage for returning this, is customer's responsibility. How will a customer a) fold tight enough to fit in a box, b) carry to post office and put on counter.c) afford to send the piece back? HMMMMMM.....Maybe they can change this part of the warranty........ Product is atypical of pool tarps, as of now. This will be confirmed after a couple Pennsylvania winters.
