Update: just took cover off 4/29/25 after having covered since 9/24 and on one end of cover that was over top seat of pool in 1 area it's got little tears almost like it melted. Idk if it's a defect or what but it will rip when we try to cover it next year. I will attach pix. It only did it in that area but all of it was attached the same and was in the same weather, etc and nobody has even been to that end of the pool all winter as there's no deck at that end. So we got 1yr out of it. Gonna try to get replacement. 1st reciew before took it off (1st year with this new cover. So far so good. Held up through some rough weather this year!) ... show more

    • Don’t waste your money

I bought a 15x30 oval cover for the winter of 2023. I have my pool professionally winterized and covered. The pool cover had a seam that opened during the winter and I had a mess because of course the pool water was green and dirty when the pool was opened. The company did honor their 8 yr warranty after i sent them photos but they originally wanted me to mail the cover back! That was not going to happen since it is huge and was filthy. New cover was received and put on my pool in September 2024. Two weeks later I had water on the cover and pool water level was going down. We have not had rain in over 6 weeks so AGAIN this pool cover was leaking. Since it had an 8 yr warranty I assumed it was a quality cover. It is in fact a very thin cover and obviously there are some quality control issues. This time when i called the company they told me to deal with Amazon. Amazon customer service was fantastic. They issued me an Account credit which was fine with me since i am constantly purchasing items. I have since purchased a much thicker higher quality cover. I try to remember you get what you pay for. My new cover was twice the cost of the Blue Wave cover but worth the money ! On top of the aggravation i also had to pay my company to remove the leaking cover, remove my leaf cover and put on my new cover. Blue Wave has lost a customer. ... show more

    • Very good light weight pool cover

I purchased this cover (21' x 45') for an above ground pool. This is a light weight cover. Very thin, but much less expensive then the thicker covers. Also, since I was closing and covering the pool by myself, the lighter weight made it easier to cover the pool. The pool is a rectangle 16' x 32' and this oval cover is more then big enough to cover the pool, and the drop to the water and extra covering left over for the sides of the pool. They claim it will last 8 years, but frankly, I have never had any pool cover survive 8 years in a Michigan winter. If I get two years out of it I will be happy. If you are looking for a reasonably priced pool cover this one well do just fine. I would recommend it. ... show more

I bought better quality covers in the past and they never last long. Also the better quality covers are a pain to manage getting on/off the pool and storing due to the weight. This cover feels very thin and cheaply made in comparison but it's a breeze to handle. I only got one winter from this cover last year...mainly because I had a make-shift way to fasten it to my pool deck on one side and it got holes in those areas, plus hurricane Sandy helped. I plan on averaging 2 seasons from this cover and that's all it should be rated. It's half the price of my previous covers and it will last 1 year less. I tend to use the damaged pool covers for other task when they can't be used for the pool so it's a no lose situation here. I never use the cables given with the covers. I use several 2" spring clips to clamp it onto the underside of the side rails. I stopped using those stupid air pillows too. I just throw in all of my air toys like beach balls and rafts. I have been doing it for years now and have not lost a toy or damaged my side walls from ice expansion. I have an 18x33 oval going on 14 years. Hey, I have a word of advice about water quality. Close your pool with winterizing chemicals! I do and I always have super clear water in the spring...some of you would say No Duh! but my neighbors never do and have a 3 week green war every spring :) I also start pumping the water from the cover into the pool when the freezing weather is over. It eliminates the stress on my well and makes removing the cover very easy when it's POOL TIME :). Yep, I even pump the water into the pool from the cover when there's leaves and some winter sediment...again, always clear water when the cover comes off! ... show more

Typically when you order an item like this, it takes the entire winter before you know whether or not it works. Well I bought (and installed) this cover in September. I didn't have to wait for snow. Hurricane Sandy struck. The 2-inches of water I originally had on the cover to keep it down quickly increased to 7 or 8 inches deep. What started out as a small water pond expanded greatly. I could not believe how much water accumulated on that cover in so short a period of time! That's alot of extra weight! The cover stretched to the max in several areas. I mean, it was pulled tight! Now, combine this with the 50-MPH sustained winds I had to contend with, and I had a recipie for a cover bound to tear and dump a s***load of leaves and pine needles into the pool! Not so! I ended up going out and starting a syphon to remove water off the cover. I let the syphon run all night, then inspected the entire cover the next morning. With all said and done, the cover held up beyond expectations. No rips, no tears. Not even a little shredding around the edges! This may not be the most expensive or highest quality advertised, but it surely went above-and-beyond! A good choice! ... show more

I've purchased this cover four times. I considered it disposable and never really expected more than a year's use. That has worked well until this year. Opened the pool and it was filthy. Not debris like leaves, but a kind of silt. I could see on the cover where the seam had stretched and there was an accumulation of dirt on that seam, so that is where the dirt entered the pool. My pool is so gross right now it is so discouraging. I've been running the filter 24/7 for three days now and it is not improving even though I am cleaning the filter daily and using a sock in the skimmer in hopes of catching more of the fine silt. I guess going "cheap" is no longer an option. Especially when the "cheap" price is now twice what it was when I purchased my first cover four years ago. My pool looks like mud. ... show more

This is the absolute worst pool cover we have ever bought. It didnt even last one season and ripped and leaked like crazy and the pool is green and gross. I would give this zero stars if I could.
