This will be my second one of these worth the price for single season use. It held up great this past winter with a blizzard and 2 other heavy snow storms, lots of windy days. I ordered this cover for my new 18’ x 52” round above ground pool and used it when we closed our pool in early November 2022. It is my first time ever using a solid above ground pool cover, so I didn’t know what to expect. I am actually surprised that it has held up so far (knock on wood) during some of these crazy winds and storms! We used the red “string”/wire/whatever you wanna call it and ratchet that it came with and were able to get it to stay put so far. No extra cables or weights or anything to keep it held down. I bought a small pool cover pump to pump water off of it when we get heavy rains. A good tip is to leave SOME water around the cover (especially if you’re using a pillow!) to keep it from parachuting during heavy winds (although it still will a little bit…especially during really high winds). Use the winch to tie as tight as you can and make sure the cover is secure and you won’t have to worry about it blowing off. I am actually shocked it has stayed on! Keeping up with pumping water off is kind of annoying but I think it will be worth it not having to deal with a green swamp like we would with a mesh cover. Using a pillow in the center makes pumping water off a LOT easier. Do not drain too much water because this cover is meant to sit ON TOP OF the water! Do not pull it tight! We only drained about 3-4 inches below the skimmer and returns. The lower you drain the water at closing, the more stress you’re putting on your pool’s walls when the heavy rain and snow comes! It is a solid cover so it is NOT necessary to drain so much water like you would with a mesh one. Quality is mid at best, I suppose. It is pretty thin and flimsy but slightly better than just a regular old “tarp”. I plan on only using this for this season since it was cheap and buying another one for next closing. Overall, I recommend this cover if you can find it for cheap and don’t have high expectations. Forget about the 8 year “warranty”. This will last 2 seasons at best — maybe 3 if you don’t get a lot of heavy winds or rains. It is pretty thin and looks like it could rip easily. It has stayed on and has exceeded my expectations thus far. I will update this review when I take the cover off in late March/early April and let y’all know how it did! So far, so good!

This cover is ok in itself. We had problems with the little ratchet thing that held the rope was a problem. It wouldn't tighten very well when we put it on in October. The cover did stay on until May, but in May, during a wind storm, the ratchet let loose and the cover ended up in the pool. Big mess. I would recommend getting a leaf cover to go over this if you have trees near the pool. Just pull the leaf cover off when the trees are bare. Also use a pump and get the water off of this a few times throughout the winter to keep the weight off.

I was afraid of what I was going to get with the amazing price of this cover-boy, was I wrong! This is exactly what we needed for our pool! I have used it nightly for months-easy to toss on and off, kept rain water, twigs and leaves out of the pool, survived some nasty summertime weather and best of all..it has halted the nightly Frog-a-palooza/ Hefner caliber parties that were going on every night in our pool!

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY GARBAGE!! I RATED A FOUR STAR SO I COULD WARN EVERYONE! I BOUGHT THIS LAST FALL (2022) BECAUSE OF THE REVIEWS! IT IS SUPER THIN, HOLES ARE MISPLACED, I AM VERY PARTICULAR ABOUT MY POOL CLOSING, CLEAN WATER CLOSING EQUALS CLEAN WATER OPENING. BUT NOT THIS TIME, AFTER 35 YEARS OF POOL OPENING, MINE LOOKS LIKE OUTHOUSE WASTE. I THOUGHT I HAD A HOLE IN MY POOL, AND I KEPT TAKING THE WATER OFF, BUT WOULD ALWAYS HAVE WATER IN IT. AFTER JUST 6 MONTHS OF USE, THIS COVER IS NOT ANY BETTER THAN IF YOU NEVER PUT ONE ON!!
