    • Good for pool covers
I use a bunch of these for covering my pool during the "winter months" when dirt and leaves would be a problem. We have both the 4 foot single tube and the longer dual tubes. When filled with water, they provide more than adequate flexible weight to hold down the edges of the cover. They are sturdily constructed and will last several seasons. I especially like the fact that you can use them across ledges, rocks, etc. and they will still provide good weight against the surface of the cover. I took off one star for the closure. It is a rubber/vinyl closure that provides a simple seal, particularly when new. However, during storage these are folded up in a box. It is possible for the opening to become squeezed or smashed out of shape. They will still close, buy forcing them back into shape, but will leak slightly. That's not a huge problem, but the buyer ought to be aware. Still the best item I know of for holding down pool covers. ... show more

I bought these hoping the keep my pool cover from flapping in the wind. They hold down the tarp however they roll off the edge of the pool and also into the pool. Unless your above ground pool is 100% surrounded by deck, or you have an inground pool where these can be set back about 2', don't bother. The two stars is for the fact that 2 of them leaked before I found out that they fall in, or out, depending on how hard and what direction the wind is blowing. Using on a tent for extra hold-down for the border ground flap. Bought four and used them last night for the first time. Solid material. Solid plug even if a little difficult. Will be contacting store as one arrived with leak around plug but I'm sure that it will be taken care of...

I live in CA with mild winter weather. I bought 4 of these to hold down my pond cover. Two of the 4 leaked after a couple months. One in the corner seam, another looks like a tear near the water inlet. I suppose for the price I should just buy 2 more and not complain BUT I'd rather pay a little more and receive a better quality ... show more
