  • Overall, Gravy!
Size: 8 Color: Elk/Mountain Red
Updating again because I'm awesome :-)- Well obviously I love these, but even to this day they look new. No busted seams, cracks or anything. I've upgraded my laces to elastic boot laces so I can easily slide these on without having to tie any laces, for those moments while you're camping and in the middle of the night when you gotta get up and go outside. Easy least, I love them. UPDATE#2!!!- Okay y’all so just for fun i’m giving you another update on these beauties. this summer i was a Rec Leader at an outdoor nature-centric Summer Camp. The park is a protected natural preserve and everyday i was walking at least 2 miles a day through wet grass, muddy slippery rocky trails, heavy rain, dirt/dust, climbing in & out of sinkholes of limestone rock, getting splashed on by kids in the pool, etc. i wore these EVERYDAY this summer because i was not about to ruin my sneakers for the job, summer is rainy season here and it gets SO HOT so i knew it just made sense to wear these. They help up fantastic. They still look new- nothing is loose or cracked whatsoever. they’re nice and tight and crisp, albeit a little dirty :)) just wanted to let you know how they held up with everyday wear and tear bc i definitely tested them this summer. and they remain strong :). I’m going to Tennessee in a few weeks and these will again be the only shoes i bring :) you just can’t go wrong. these are my go-to shoes for moments where regular sneakers just won’t cut it. still 1000% recommend. love these so much UPDATE!- so I’ve come and gone to Iceland with these babies as my ONLY shoes for the trip- a week full of hiking, exploring and campervan-ing. They did not disappoint! The slight concern on my first post was definitely my own problem, lacing them all the way or halfway never gave me any tongue-chafing again. I LOVE the lace hooks from the ankle up- it made taking the shoes off and on in airports a total breeze. I was in freezing temps, wore with some cheap wool socks, my feet were always warm. Lightweight you can run with no problems but sturdy to where you still feel supported. It rained many times while I wore them, I even had to step into a little river to cross and continue a hiking trail- the boots were submerged to where the icy water was halfway up foot level but my feet were completely dry, (I even stayed there a few extra seconds to test the shoe’s power) the outside of the shoe barely looked wet and dried shortly after that as if it never happened. Wonderful shoes- again for the price you just can’t beat them. Would highly recommend and purchase again in a heartbeat! ORIGINAL- These are so nice! I needed a pair of waterproof hiking boots for my upcoming Iceland trip in October, and boy am i impressed. Right off the bat they are super comfy and sturdy but still lightweight- (nothing like my Dr. marten boots i own that are stylish, but feel like bricks.) great grip on the bottoms, nice height too- not too tall where they chafe your ankles but not too low where they still support your ankles. Love the colors too- the red laces add a nice touch of color and the camel color is beautiful. Very well made, great quality, suede is nice and soft, no loose stitching or anything like that-these look built to last. So far ive only worn them out once to a local nature trail through the woods, and it rained a bit while i was out. (usually i wear sneakers on that trail and wobble over the roots and rocks)- but with these, i felt so secure as i walked, they were very comfortable to wear, and even after the mud and rain- They looked new straight of of the box. I'm guessing its the way its designed, but bottom of the boot did a really good job at keeping the debris Under the shoe rather than All Over it. My only complaint, and this could by my own issue and not the shoe's, is that while i wore them, i laced them up all the way. I don't know if this is how you're supposed to wear these, because the lace hoops really only come up to the top of your ankle, where your foot bends- and above that, there arent holes fr the laces but hooks that you can use to close up the boot more securely i'm guessing.- But when i did this, i did feel some discomfort on one of my feet from the inner ankle area where the laces felt too tight and were making the tongue of the boot kinda rub and press on my foot/ankle. It wasn't unbearable, but uncomfortable. Not knocking any points off the boot though, cause i can just adjust the way i lace them and maybe i wont have that issue anymore. Overall, for the price and quality, these boots are tough to beat in my opinion. They get the job done, and they seem like they will last a long time. Im happy with my purchase. I will come back and let you guys know my experience with these in Iceland! ... show more

  • Had to Stop Counting Frogs & Found a Prince & Friends!
I read the reviews wherever I could find them. I had become very confused over the sizing. I have a hard enough time getting the right size without this much of a difference thrown at me too! I was in love @first glance, beautiful dark gray with aqua strings. Ordered size 7 as suggested though I wear a size 6.5 or 6. Feet measures a size 5-5.5, L=8.5" R=8.7". There lies the rub, right foot doesn't fit sizes same as left one by a fraction so hit or miss. Also, remember, as you age, your feet spread causing sizing up like me to 6.5 in shoes, 7 usually in boots but style can put you back to regular size if they are rounded toe box or squared box mostly in western styles. Shoes strings are very helpful as they can be adjusted to make more room, not more length. Overall best choice in any type of foot covering is "Leather", your friend for stretching if little small as they will mold to feet. They state cushioned, I don't agree. I have my own & needed them! This is where you need to be aware of how much room they take up which usually is where your width will come into play. Just as socks take up space, so do inserts, sometimes a lot. At this point, you might want to try sizing down 1/2 and go with wide. As you go from traditional sizes to wide, every size up in wide, i.e., from size 6 down to 5W adds another fraction of an inch to length, keep this in mind when options are limited, you might find a happy 'medium' in a smaller size wide (haha). Back to the size sessions; First was great price on 7's, looked order back up and saw ordered from warehouse! Wow, what a great mistake... for my sis! You MUST try & always make such great mistakes, was much less, new & 30 day return (check to make sure.) They were too great a price, so sis got them for Xmas, she was gaga over them. Done & done. Next, I ordered size 6, suggested 6.5, too bad, too big but kept just in case.... the size 5's I was ordering now, 3rd try, didn't fit even though suggested I wear a 6 now! Well the 5's came and went, that fraction of inch on R foot, felt fine, but only for few minutes, just fraction too small in toes based on R foot! Last and 4th time! Wow! That tells you how badly I wanted these shoes, they just checked off too many boxes to let them go without a good fight. The 5.5's I was sure would fit in a WIDE, had been costly, at over $100 if remember correctly. Figures! Only size left & at most expensive price! Waited a day later, 5.5W's & more sizes had come in, ordered them up and got them in about a day. Crossed fingers as I thought they were a yes. I have them on now, they feel like they should have been on my feet the whole time! So, the size 5.5W is my size w/just enough room for thick socks or thinner ones. I live in Florida, though kids live in Denver & Boise & France. These will work out fine for all places as it is warm today here & fit & feel great! Updated: 12/1/23, getting later, quicker! After size 7, 6, 5W, 5.5W and guess what? Another size 6 was ordered at new price 1/2 off all others, came few days later. Wondering what was wrong w/1st size 6's? Nothing, just needed to make sure of correct size due to computer blindness, too much shopping. I was getting goofy and thought perhaps all in my head, being too careful. I was traveling to snow country & would need thicker socks made all the difference, not to mention the inserts. Merry Christmas Folks! Good Luck with your sizing, hope this finally solves some problems??? Footnote(ha!): Embarrassed, after wearing the size 6's for almost 2yrs, have held up excellent. But I began wondering if I shouldn't have gotten smaller size? Only in wide. I tried from 5-5.5W & I ended up ordering a 5W, 3 more pairs! I couldn't figure what the heck? I think losing 20+lbs helped. There's only 1 dilemma sizing from regular sizes to wide, 'additional' room throughout/around entire toe bed & instep you 'gain' in addition to length. Wide isn't actually shorter sized in comparison to regular size, they're actually a fraction of inch longer. I suppose it's adjustment is due to overall wider girth? Just keep in mind in case you can't get your size, you may fit in smaller wide! Oh, were also about $30 each! Score! ... show more

  • Rugged boots.
Size: 7.5 Color: Elk/Mountain Red
I liked my first pair so much I bought another. I'll buy them again! I've had both pairs for nearly a year and a half and they are holding up well. I wear them year-round. One pair sees a lot of trail-wear, but the other pair is for town. I'm hard on boots, but these stand up to the terrain and the wet weather of the PNW. Durable, waterproof, comfortable and they look good. They remind me of the old 'stompers' from my teen years (so long ago I'd rather not say). They fit true to size and don't hurt my finicky left arch. . When I'm out shopping people mention that they like my boots. I always let them know where they can find them, so they, too, can buy a boot that is worth the money spent. ... show more

  • Hold up so well!!
Size: 8.5 Color: Oxford Tan/Dusty Green
These boots are AMAZING! I have owned them for 2 years and hiked over 100 miles in them. They are still holding up so well! My feet are always comfortable, and they are extremely sturdy against hitting large rocks or roots with your front foot which I do often, lol. I never worry about hurting myself tripping or twisting my ankle because of the overall support. I have also ran into rain storms and deep mud where they dry extremely quickly and never get into my shoe. For a pair of hiking boots that are less $100, these are awesome. I can’t wait to buy again when needed. ... show more

  • definitely a good one for hiking: durable, stable, great traction. May be too stiff for casual wear
Size: 11 Color: Shark/River Blue
I was able to snag these for $60. A week later and they are up to $75. While I dont rate on price, I comment. I chose these because they were competitively priced with no name brands. I figured Columbia has served me well enough in the past that I would spring for these. It was no brainer at $60 price point, but $75 would have had me sniffing around other options even if I did think that Columbia is the way to go anyways. The have a stiff but stable feel. These are hikers, and while they will break in a little over time, it is important that they keep the stiffness in the ankle area. If just using these as daily shoes, then you may want something with more flex. If actually hiking, then these are going to provide a stable feel. The traction looks and feels good too. One thing to note is that they just fit my feet. I went with size 11 even though I more like a size 10. I learned that if I go with a larger size, then it will accommodate my wide feet without having to buy shoes designated as wide width. Opened up a whole new world for me once I discovered that. So while these fit in width and fit in length.. the length doesnt feel like it is a size larger. I would NOT want these any smaller. Not sure if I can wear thick socks with these (haven't yet tried. Just wore with regular thickness socks). Possible I will gain a little added space with some breaking in, but I have only worn these a few times and not for any particular activity. The area from top if foot to bottom of foot also feels a tad snug. Not bad, but it felt good to take my hikers off after just sitting with them on. Again, perhaps a little breaking in will help with that. These do not look nor feel cheap. At this time, I am overall pleased. If I experience anything worth sharing (good or bad, but especially bad) I will be back to update. ... show more

  • Excellent quality, great price
Size: 7.5 Color: Elk/Mountain Red
Bought these in 2024. Fit perfectly, very comfortable from day 1,and are still comfortable. They had a catastrophic tear, not due to manufacturing. I wear these boots all the time. I used them for light Hiking, gardening, biking, kayaking, dog walking, roadside cleanup, and around the house, because they are so comfortable and light. Sole is not stiff, it feels like wearing sneakers. They retained the waterproof barrier until one boot got sliced open by something very sharp recently. If I had not worn these every day for everything I do, they would have lasted more than 2years. I got compliments several times in their look. I'm going to order a new pair right now. ... show more

  • These shoes are magical.
Size: 9 Wide Color: Stratus/Canyon Rose
This photo is from after a full week of being a sponsor at a very rainy, very muddy week of church camp. These boots got muddy and very wet multiple times. I did not clean them or even wipe them down...they just repelled all the mud and water off themselves. It's magical. Aside from their magical properties, the fit and quality of these boots are incredible. The toe box is wide enough for my toes to feel very comfortable and not squished at all. I wear long socks with these, and my ankle doesn't get rubbed raw or feel sore/tender, even after wearing these all day for a week straight. These boots also have a great amount of support. As far as functionality, I can vouch for these being a great option for muddy, wet, rocky, and flat environments. They feel about as light as a normal pair of shoes, so it doesn't feel like you're having to drag your feet around. The colors are beautiful, too! I've had these for about a year, and they've stayed as vibrant as they were when I got them. If you're looking for a pair of hiking boots that are high quality, comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, feel like they will last a very long time, and won't break the bank, buy these shoes! ... show more
