Style: String Trimmer
Exchanged the Black & Decker BESTA510 string trimmer for this model due to the difference in design. The BESTA510 has a wheel that is supposed to roll and maintain the proper distance for edging. Unfortunately the auto string feed wouldn't extend past the wheel, making it useless for edging. This ST8600 did not work any better. Moreover, it ran through the entire spool of trimmer line edging only 100 feet. A new AF100 spool worked fine trimming, but I haven't tried it in the edging configuration. Don't know if the spool shipped with the trimmer was faulty or loaded with less line. I may need to buy an edger and use the ST8600 for weed eating only. I'm very disappointed.

This is light enough for me (a 64-year-old female) and easy enough to maneuver throughout the small area of grass in my back yard that landscapers keep forgetting to cut. It also works great when trimming next to sidewalks. From what I can tell so far, it appears to be a good deal for the price.

The trimmer was light enough for me to use comfortably. It cut through the overgrown patch I needed to remove. I haven’t changed the spool yet so I can’t speak to that. I will update if necessary but so far it’s just what I needed.

I didn’t realize this was a 1 string spool. Does the trick just not as efficiently. Good power in the trimmer however makes up for only having one string.
