    • Excellent Gearwrench Quality
These sockets are of the excellent quality I've come to expect from Gearwrench. This is the second Gearwrench product I own, and I have been thoroughly impressed. I didn't know if I'd like the magnetic aspect, but they worked flawlessly. My 2 Escapes have transverse-mounted engines, and the rear bank plugs can be difficult to get to. These made it an absolute breeze to complete a tune-up. As long as you don't crank on them, they'll work for you. I did have one get stuck in the socket, but a quick tap with a hammer convinced it out. The plugs don't fully seat into the socket, which did make me skeptical at first, but these were able to remove what I thought to believe were original (167k miles) spark plugs. Don't let that keep you from buying them. Buy them. You'll never want to use a spark plug socket with a rubber insert ever again. ... show more

    • Very handy good value
I bought this set just for the fact that I noticed matco sold it on their trucks and rebranded it as a matco tool. I will say if you want to save about 50 bucks buying this set will allow you to do so. Now, I'm going to be honest I've had this set for almost a year and I've used it moderately and on jobs that I have been doing it has worked great the swivel part is well made, the different extensions are a life saver for tight hard to reach areas and the magnets have been saturated in oil (due to some jobs in which the spark plug holes were filled to the top with oil). Now while these are all great things to note I did have one instance where not one of these sockets would work and that was on a Nissan juke. The spark plugs holes were so small that the extensions in this kit would not fit. upon further inspection I thought maybe I had something wrong with the vehicle itself so I took what I believe was a deep 3/8 9/16 socket and extension and to my surprise it fit in the tube with out any issue. Now this was one instance where these didn't work. Is this tool something I would recommend? Absolutely. The only concern I have is that you may run into a vehicle that clearance may be an issue. With that being said I find this set to be very handy, and a great value for the price. ... show more
