Amazing vacuum, it sucks great. A deep low volume hum when turned on. Much quieter than other vacuums I’ve had before. I tested it with one pull on about 1 foot of carpet and I was shocked at how much it picked up. The hepa filter and closed system is a huge plus! There is no escape of particles, what goes in stays in and I can actually tell a difference. It also works great on hard surfaces and has replaced my broom. The hinge of my canister was broken when I received it, but the support was very helpful and made things right quick. This vacuum went from a “I hope it’s good” to a no brainer really fast.

I was absolutely, completely totally blown away by this Bissell. I did NOT expect to write a review saying "better than Dyson" but it is, it really is, and let me tell you why. I've owned 2 Dysons and still use one, and this Bissell moves much easier as it is lighter and simply turns & pushes & pulls on carpet noticeably easier than with my Dyson. The Dyson compared to this Bissell is clunkier, stiffer, doesn't swivel as smoothly, MUCH heavier, and tends to bog down into thicker carpet as it's suction pulls it down like too much gravity. Also this Bissell does NOT suck up runner rugs into its roller and jam the machine like Dyson does. But the thing is, the Bissell does the exact same good job with the actual sucking/cleaning. Identical, they are both good at sucking up everything from fine dirt to dog hairs to leaves. But the Bissell just feels better in the hand, does not wear you out like the heavier Dyson does, and of course the cost of the Bissell is much much less. I have no reason to diss the Dyson but looking at price and ease of use, and the vacuuming results, you could get 2 Bissells for the cost of one Dyson and when you wait until there is a good sale the Bissell is almost a third of the more expensive Dyson so it seems like a no brainer. Get this Bissell Pet Hair Eraser (which is super easy to assemble in about one minute) and you will congratulate yourself for making the best sweeper purchaser ever.

This vacuum is an excellent durable addition to your home cleaning arsenal. I myself have a Kirby vacuum, I love the vacuum but it is very heavy, cumbersome, hard to use on stairs, and it doesn't get into the corners like you would think it does. That is where this Bissel excel's. With its swivel head it can get into corners and along baseboards so easily it blows my Kirby away. Suction wise I have no way to know how far deep into the carpet it is sucking up dirt, but I will say that I vacuumed with my Kirby, and then I vacuumed with this Bissel immediately afterwards, and my canister was full of pet hair and carpet debris, so that should give you an idea of its sucking power. The HEPA filter kept odor and dust debris confined. Removing the canister pod for use along your journey up-and-down the stairs is an immense asset. I have 2 pomeranians and a long-haired cat so I have hair everywhere, therefore being able to lift the pod off the base was an excellent buying feature. Neither the rollers on the main vacuum base or the pet hair accessory had pet hair wrapped anywhere around the brush so it lives up to its claim. Another feature that is excellent is the handle switch. To be able to switch the beater bar from moving to stationary is nice. When I do go off of my carpet onto my wood floor one switch on the handle shuts off the bar. I do wish that they would add a long pole extension. The included pole is not long enough. I have 15' cathedral ceilings and there is no possible way I can reach to the top. My idea Bissel, make your pole with an adjustable sliding length feature cause nowadays the ceilings are high. I did a lot of research and I did not want to spend a fortune but wanted something that was going to be as powerful as possible with a budget-friendly price and this Pet Hair Eraser Allergen Lift-off did the trick, plus it was on sale. Assembly was a snap, the instructions are very clear and there is a separate website to go to if you need to purchase accessories to keep your machine running great. This vacuum rocks.

OK, right out of the box- I had it put together and running in less than 10 minutes, THEN I read the instructions. Having owned an office cleaning company for years, I really APPRECIATE the thorough instructions on maintenance, and how to replace the belts and bars. Other commenters have noted the cord as short. This replaced a Shark Navigator for me, there is not much difference in cord length. This vacuum is fairly light, it maneuvers easily, moves across mid-pile carpet easily, fluffs the nap and picks up FUR well (our home is 2 people, 2 short hair cats and a pit bull). It also picks up bone fragments (my boy enjoyed a steak bone last night) well. It DID however snag a loose thread on an area rug and tore off some of the edging, so use caution around USB charging cords. I was impressed by how much fur, dust, and Carpet Fresh (leftover from my husband- he likes to sprinkle it) it picked up, I emptied the dust cup twice just vacuuming the living room (my Shark died more than a week ago). So far the only negative I found is the LACK of a headlight on the vacuum. The Shark had a row of bright LED lights, really helped illuminate the work area. At this price point, I won't complain.

Amazing vacuum at an awesome price BUT I’ll start off with the one con just to not waste anyone’s time. The whole “lift off” thing is a GIMICK. Actually kinda dumb. So for those who want it for that reason thinking they’re gunna be running around super mobile with it… nah. You’re not. When you detach the brush/wheels it’s so little that it doesn’t make much of a difference. You’re still lugging around a good 90% of it, making it a lil awkward and clunky. On top of that the hose isn’t that long and extension pieces are not included. So if you’re doing blinds or ceiling cleaning you’ll have to either hold the vacuum up pretty high or set it down on a higher surface. Other than that it’s a solid vacuum. I did a little test where I vacuumed my whole house with my older bissel first. Picked up a decent amount of stuff and the floor looked clean. Then I went over it a second time with the Bissel lift off and wow did I feel like a filthy animal… This vacuum picked up EVERYTHING. So much embedded hair and dander in the carpet that I never knew was there. That massive pile of hair in the pic is everything this vacuum picked up. Pet owners, people with allergies, dusty old people this is for you 100%. It performed well on my hardwood floors and carpet. It even revived my crappy area rug. It made it soft and fluffy again despite being flat and matted down for months. I used the pet hair eraser attachment on my bed, it actually got the hair off my silk sheets and comforter. It worked wonders on the stairs as well. And despite having hair all over the place the brush only had a couple of hairs wrapped around it which came off easily. Another thing that I really like is how easy it is to maneuver (non lift off mode). It’s got that 360 movement like those ball vacuums. Plus the head’s small. So you can easily get those hard to reach tight spaces. With all that said you really can’t go wrong with this one. It’s an absolute steal at this price. Highly recommend it

Easy assembly, light weight easy to maneuver. Satisfying cleaning power. I have dogs and cats and this vaccuum cleaned no problem. Worked great on carpet an hard floor. If you need one that gets dust an pollen as well as hair an debris this is a great choice

I think I’m already in love with this vacuum! Pulled it out of the box this morning and in less than five minutes, had it all snapped together plugged in and gave it a few runs on our plank tile floor. I used the setting without the brush to pick up dog hair. The suction is amazing. We have a golden retriever who leaves large fur balls all over the house on a daily basis. Worked like a charm! See my my video for proof. I haven’t tried it with the brush setting yet, but I’m sure it will work well. I will say that I believe this is a quiet vacuum compared to my regular Bissell that I bought a handful of years ago. If you’re torn between another model in this one, give this a try it also has a swivel feature which I didn’t have before and it took me a few minutes to get used to it but I like it and it makes vacuuming so much easier. The features are overall very good and user-friendly. Again, I will say it’s so easy to put together. A child could do it. The only two features I would like to see with this design is a self retracting cord or at least maybe a light so you can see what your vacuuming in front of you but it’s not a dealbreaker.

A great little vacuum for the budget friendly price. Easy Assembly, good suction and easy assembly and straightforward emptying, plus every purchase makes it possible for BISSELL to continue support of BISSELL Pet Foundation. This little vacuum did a better job vacuuming than other more expensive models - picked up much more fur, dirt and dust.. The switch to change between hardwoods and carpet is easy to access and use. It is lightweight (at least for me) so easy to push and to carry. Although I am keeping it, there are a couple issues that perhaps, in the future, they will correct, including: (i) the electric cord is short- much shorter than other vacuum cleaners, so as you sweep, you keep having to unplug and find outlets; (ii) the sweeper head is smaller than other vacuums; (iii)no light to see what is on the floor ahead of you as you sweep (the more expensive model does have this); (iv) the suction tube isn’t very long, so when you go to use it, you have to keep the unit close to you otherwise, it tips over. And finally, unfortunately, mine did not come with the Turboerase Pet Tool attachment, so cannot review that attachment’s performance. I contacted Bissell and thehelpful customer service indicated that they are suppose to be sending me this missing item.
