New formula is great. Does what it promises. It is much thinner and a bit tacky but then it goes away when it settles down, it does give you a blur affect when it settles/dries down and it definitely closes your pores and plumps your skin. It is not as drying as the original formula. The color is the same, although there’s just a slight very slight difference. ORIGINAL: Brighter masks color and not hydrating NEW: Brighter second skin looking and softer, hydrates and plumps. That’s the only difference. AS YOU CAN SEE IN PICS PICK A: My pores are open and I just applied one thin coat. Best place to test is the nose where the light hits the most and if it blends with your cheek tone, then it’s for you. PICK B: it has settled in and dried. Pores are closed, blur affect has kicked in. Skin feels hydrated. BEST PART IS THE FOUNDATION IS FLEXIBLE AND MOVES WITH YOUR SKIN, AS WELL IT DOES NOT SETTLE INTO WRINKLES or MRIONETTE LINES or AROUND SMILE MOUTH LINES or EYE WRINKLES. Truly stays in place and it doesn’t budge. Order your original shade you will notice a slight very slight difference, but it’s still the same good quality as far as pigmentation and in fact, although it is thinner, it is buildable and pigmented very well. Buy it you won’t regret it. It’s the best foundation. For reference, I am 60 years old, use 3W2 Cashew and have been using Estée Lauder for many, many years. It is still top-notch number one foundation out there.

I LOVED Double Wear years ago, it was my holy grail foundation. I stopped wearing foundation for a while when I got more focused on skincare, but recently decided to get back into makeup a bit. I’ll admit, I was hesitant to try the reformulated version since my skin is combination (leans oily) and can be acne-prone. But this is just as good as I remember, maybe even better. It truly stays put all day. No transferring onto clothes, no sliding around, and it doesn’t settle weirdly into pores. There’s zero cakiness, which is impressive considering the coverage. It gives that smooth, even look without feeling heavy. I apply it with a damp beauty blender over my moisturizer, and it blends flawlessly. It really looks like my skin, just more even toned and polished. I’m so glad I gave this a try again. It makes my skin look more even-toned and a little more youthful, which is exactly what I was hoping for. I’d definitely recommend it, especially if you have normal-to-oily skin and want something long wearing that still looks natural.

Maybe the new formula works for some, but I personally, do not like it and don't believe it's the right fit for me. Here are my chief complaints: Color: The new formula color does not match the old. It is darker and more orange in pigment. I could probably handle the darker shade with summer coming around if it were not for the orange pigment. Even with a tan, the color appears unnatural. Application: The new formula did not apply evenly like the original does. It left me with thicker cakey spots making my skin look splotchy and dried out. I hope Estée Lauder continues to offer the original formula version so I do not have to look for a new foundation. I used Bare Minerals BarePro line prior to finding this line of Estée Lauder foundation. I sought out a new foundation because the Bare Minerals line had changed their formula and I, like many others at the time, couldn't make the new formula work for me. I have loved the original formula in this line from Estée Lauder since trying it. Would hate to have to find something else.

I was surprised I really love this updated version. Original formula fell into lines on more mature skin, felt too matte. New version feels more moisturizing, doesn’t fall into lines, more 2nd skin look! And lasts all day!!! And Sephora new color match is perfect, I suggest to go get color matched.!!! Now just need a good concealer that doesn’t fall into lines?!

I very much like Estee Lauder products and was hunting for the replacement of their "Fresh Aire" foundation that was discontinued some time ago. This foundation is of nice quality, but it's much thicker and definitely needs to be applied with wet fingers to "water down" the thickness of the foundation.

I ordered the Double Wear in 2N1 Desert Beige and it matched my skin really well. It goes on smooth, has great coverage, and doesn’t feel heavy. What I love most is that it actually stays put all day without needing a bunch of touch-ups. It gives a nice, even finish and doesn’t look cakey. Definitely one of my go-to foundations now.

I understand wanting a foundation for all skin types.. but why not make a second foundation instead of changing the formula on arguably the best foundation out there? I do not like the new formula at all. It feels thick and looks cakey on my skin and it’s sticky to the touch. I have an oily skin type. Maybe this works great for people with dry skin but I am not enjoying this new formula to the point I’m considering switching foundations after YEARS of loyalty to Estée Lauder Double Wear 😭 The exact color I’ve worn for years is also too dark now with the new formula. Yes I can get a new color match, but now I’m stuck with a $55 (with tax) bottle of foundation that’s too dark, until I run out. If you already have the best of the best… why change it?!?!!!! p.s. I NEVER leave reviews on anything but this is ruining my life lol
