I've had this vacuum for right at 2 years. I use it on laminate wood flooring only. After about 1 month of use, the plastic piece broke that supports the hose at the handle (as other reviewers have mentioned). It didn't seem to make a huge difference so I didn't worry about it and used it like that for 2 years. Finally, a week ago, the cord snapped right at the canister. I ordered replacement parts - a hose/handle, the floor attachment (mine was dirty and just needed to be replaced), then got new filters - spent around $80 to get it back into top shape. I installed the parts and it works like new again. Hoping to get another couple of years of use. I have 4 children so I vacuum daily. There are a lot of crumbs, paper, dust, etc, and it works well for cleaning up all of that. Suction is good, noise is about average, retractable cord still works perfectly, and canister is easy to remove and empty, then reattach. This is used in my kitchen and living room so the crumbs and mess are heavy. I try to avoid large particles or wet food (eggs, vegetables, etc) because those will cause buildup on the attachment. Great, affordable vacuum for laminate flooring. Would recommend! ... show more

  • Worth the good reviews
We just pulled ours out of the box shortly after it arrived today. It was very easy to assemble, and if anyone cares, 90% of the packaging materials are recyclable. (There were a few pieces of foam sponge material.) The first thing I noticed was how lightweight the canister is, and the length of the hose. The cord is the same length as our old canister (black and decker pet vacuum) but I would argue that the hose extends the full length of the vacuum by at least a foot. The attachments actually attach! And not in a clunky, awkward way. The second big thing I noticed was that the wand is much longer than my old vacuum when extended. I'm short, but I still always felt like I had to bend over a lot with my old canister. I would equate this vacuum to the height of an upright. I tested it out and found my next best feature - it's so quiet! This could be a sign that my old one was ready to explode and catch on fire, but I'll take it! It does come with a carpet attachment which I didn't use yet because we have all hardwood/tile floors. Once we have area rugs I'll come back and report how it works. Another positive design feature which may seem silly to some is how the filter pops out from the canister. It's very easy, doesn't require any creative twists or turns to get it secured, and the button to empty the filter is in the bottom, so no fear of creating a mess all over the floor trying to take it out to empty. (On my old canister the release button was in the handle that you used to pull the filter out, and inevitably ended in a few four letter words on a number of occasions.) All in all we are really pleased with this purchase. ... show more

  • Overpriced. Decent canister vacuum.
You pay for the mock Dyson design here, pretty sure. The vacuum is overpriced by $100 IMO. I've had reliable vacuums over the years from Miele, LG, and Samsung. Canister, corded, cordless. And some Hoover and Bissell. (Most donated when moving etc and just upgraded.) This vacuum does okay on hardwood floors. Okay because it's 360 degrees suction just isn't where it should be for a corded canister. There's a lot of angling and maneuvering to pick up dry dust, pet hair, and sand. Esp. Along the baseboards with a direct contact with the brush flush against the wall. I'd expect more cleaning power. It's easy to use. Easily assembled. The telescopic wand took some getting used to because it's not necessarily intuitive. Not sure what it is about this one but it somehow...just isn't intuitive. There's also nothing electronic or automatic about this vacuum. The buttons are on the canister. No controls on the handle etc. There's only one speed. The vacuum does okay on rugs and carpets. It's not marketed for those and I leaved to just hold the base up at a 30 degree angle and slowly pulling over the rugs and carpets to clean in a pinch. Suction power is okay overall short of the aforementioned limitations. Considering this is a high powered broom im on the fence. Cleaning this thing is okay. You do have to disassemble the bin to get it cleaned out. I take it outside with a trash bag and disassemble it there. It's a dusty endeavor for sure. Bin snaps into the canister nicely. That's a win. Filtering seems to be good, too. Wouldn't actually recommend this to a friend. It's just not "there"... looks nice. Decent capacity. But just too close to having returned it. Planned to keep it foe 1.5 years and then donating it. ... show more
