  • Love it
Style: CrossWave
So far so good. This unit replaced our Hsaek Hydrovac that died after 2 years. The Bissell is easy to use and allows you to control the cleaner delivery with the push of a button, unlike others that just supply a contract stream.of liquid. This Vacuum does a great job on tile and laminate and even works well on carpet when needed. Biggest question is how long will it last, which I'm hoping is longer than the Shark. Time will tell, but so far it's been great and seems to be of high quality. ... show more

  • Love it despite a couple design flaws
Style: CrossWave
Absolutely love the convenience of this item. It is a huge time saver by doing both the vacuuming and mopping at the same time. It works well and does a much better job than using a sponge mop. A once over with the Crosswave and the floor was as clean as when I scrub it with a brush - with far less effort. I am so glad I purchased it. I have 4 dogs, so dog hair is always an issue. I know there is a pet model, but I have not had any problem with this one handling the dog hair and bigger pieces of debris that they bring in. There are a couple things I'd like to see the developers improve upon in a future model. 1. Having the freshwater tank on the back of the handle makes the handle very heavy when it's full. I'd rather see the fresh water on the front of the machine for better balance. 2. The brush head is too light. I've found if you use the Crosswave like a normal vacuum, the front end is too light and when you extend your arm forward, the front of the brush head lifts off the floor. I'd like to see some weight to the brush head so that you can push it forward like a regular vacuum. I have been able to adapt by making shorter passes and keeping my arm lower to the ground when extending it farther out (such as under a table), but it can be uncomfortable. 3. I would like the brush to get closer to the wall. I have noticed that it leaves about a 2-inch gap between the wall and the wet area from the mop when running it parallel to the wall. This is unfortunate as plenty of debris and dirt gets along my walls. I did find that if you go straight towards the wall (perpendicular) you can get a lot closer - which brings me to point 4. 4. Better swivel of the brush head. Once I figured out that I needed to go perpendicular to the wall to get a better clean, I found that in close spaces (such as a hallway), the swivel where the handle attaches to the brush head was not as much as I would like. My vacuum has much better swivel, so that I can stand off to the side and run the brush at a sharp angle. An improvement in this area would make the machine much more comfortable to use when in tight spots. Overall, despite these few things I think could be improved upon, I love the machine and find it saves significant time and gets the floor cleaner than the mop. I highly recommend and have told all my friends! ... show more

  • Works the same as the more pricey one. If your willing to get a little dirty
Style: CrossWave
Love it! Had the one that has the strainer which is a lot better. But this thing will clean your floors and make them smell like royalty! I use mine on hardwood floors and rugs. I live in a rural area and dirt with a lot of foot traffic, and muddy dogs and kids!! Performance is wonderful! It sucks up dog hair and other “omg what is that ?” Accidents. Works on rugs as well. Freshens them up and getting the place smelling like a palace! I’m on a tight budget so I got this one instead of the one with the strainer. But performance wise they are the same. Just gotta get your hands a little bit dirty. But it beats ringing out and drying out a gross wet mop! ... show more

  • Bissell rocks! Floor cleaning made easy
Style: CrossWave
Perfect for specific home needs. Chose this for lack of steam & ability to plug into wall. Buy this if you don't want to deal with battery or maintenance of expensive steam mops. Scored this for $129. Easy to assemble, works like a charm! Like having trigger control for sprayer which isn't available on other models. Only two notes of user caution: the on/off switch can get accidentally pressed while in use. No big deal, just something to watch for. Second, the fill tank cap is very easy to misthread. Just be careful that it seats properly & you won't get leaks. Did an excellent job on my hard floors. No more buckets or bending, thanks Bissell! Picked up a ton of dirt, clean-up was easy & requires no tools. Users complained of streaks, but thats due to surface being type that shows water spots. Leaves surface damp, but not wet. Dried pretty quickly & passed barefoot test. You'll need steam or drying function if you expect more. For under 150 bucks, can't go wrong. Comes with small bottle of their cleaning solution in light spring scent. Doesn't seem to be different from other Bissell carpet solutions, which rocks bc I own their other large carpet machines & trusted brand for reliability. Typically get 5-10 years of moderate use. Will see how this little power mop compares. ... show more

  • Wow, what an improvement
Style: CrossWave
I've had a Hoover model from yesteryear which is still running strong, but it's seen better days. When this model went on sale, I thought I'd give it a try. I don't need a ton of bells and whistles. I just need a solid machine to clean my floors. It wasn't until this arrived and I cleaned a couple of rooms that I realized what a HUGE improvement in technology this was. From picking up excess water to the effective use of the water it does dispense. When I emptied out the dirty water tank, it was saturated with the dirt it picked up off the floor and I vacuum daily! I had just cleaned the floors the prior day with my old unit. Wow. One of the things I most appreciated is the self cleaning mode of the brush. Huge win! You can replace them like mop heads as well. Perfect! There is literally nothing I don't like about the Crosswave. I do want to mention a couple things regarding some complaints I've read about this unit. Yes, you have to clean it after every use. How is that unreasonable? That's just plain lazy if it's upsetting to anyone. You empty the dirty tank. You rinse off all the hair, grime and dirt left clinging to parts and if the filter is doing its job, it's going to get dirty and you'll want to replace it eventually. This machine has a self-cleaning button that literally cleans the brush head for you after your cleaning session is complete. How amazing and convenient! You can't just walk away from it like a robotic, self emptying robot. I've tried those and they are not even close to being effective. The technology has a very long way to go to meet the cleaning quality of this Bissell. It's also not meant for carpets, so please don't have unrealistic expectations. Don't expect it to perform like a carpet cleaner or a dedicated vacuum cleaner. It's meant to do one thing and it does it really well. It cleans hard floors squeaky clean. I have a robotic vacuum that runs on a daily schedule. It gets rid of the majority of dog hair, dust and dirt that gets trailed in from going in and out of the house. By adding this once a week to the routine, my floors are clean enough to eat off of. If you're not keeping your floors fairly clean throughout the week, don't expect this unit to become an industrial cleaner. That's not what it's meant for. I especially love how easy it is to maneuver as well as how little water it uses for being as effective as it is. I've just recently edited this review since my purchase several weeks ago and I'm still sticking to the 5 stars. It's my new favorite appliance in the house. ... show more

  • I really wanted to love it. Serves a purpose. I really wanted to love it. Serves a purpose.
Style: CrossWave
I have a toddler and 2 great danes and some cats. So I will start by saying this is definitely not a vacuum substitute. It gets clogged fairly easily and I have to clean the hair that accumulates out of various places. So that portion, due to the price, is a huge bummer. The mop feature is pretty good. It easily cleans water drips or paw prints off my tile and hardwood floor. The plus side is, instead of pushing dirty water around with a mop, you are using clean water. The smell of the solution is pleasant and the floors look and smell clean after. Which is not always the case with a mop. Only downside is, if you have a large surface area, I recommend having 1 or 2 extra roller heads on hand to swap out. As the rollers themselves start to smell after about 20 mins or so. Other than that the mop feature is great. The biggest con is my machine will randomly get louder (it is fairly loud to begin with) and sounds like it is experiencing a loss of suction. Not sure what this is about and still investigating if it is something that impacts the functionality of the machine. It was between this and the Tineco smart floor cleaner, but I needed a corded option due to battery run time not being sufficient on the cordless options. Not sure if I'd repurchase this or not to be honest. ... show more

  • Cleans well but has cons
Style: CrossWave
This hydro vac was ok. I found it to be bit clunky and heavy for me. Pros: it cleaned fairly well and I like that I can choose if I want it to put more water/cleaner on the floor. You can just go over the areas that you mopped and it seems to dry it. The clean water tank is pretty decent size cons: Doesn’t get close enough to base boards The dirty water tank doesn’t separate the debris from dirty water. I don’t want all of that pet hair going down my sink drain. It was kinda gross pulling the hair out so I could dump the dirty water. I ended up pouring it into the toilet. I definetly couldn’t use this on my stairs. ... show more
