I ordered this because I had the 75 foot version of the older model and I love it, and this was touted as the "improved" model. I returned the first one because the valve lever would not move at all no matter how hard I tried, and I was afraid I would break it; it seemed be a manufacturing defect. So I got the replacement hose very quickly and I tried the lever and it was fine, if a little resistant. Well, after that I didn't use the hose for a while because it was rainy and cool but then the weather heated up and I attached a sprayer, and - nothing. Just a weak dribble of water no matter what setting I used. I thought it was the fault of the sprayer so I tried another one. Same thing - virtually no water pressure, but the pressure at the faucet is very strong. So I took off the sprayer and the stream was still very weak, and I figured out why - the valve openings at both ends of the hose are TINY! Maybe a quarter inch across! No matter how high the water flow is, almost no water comes out! I am very disappointed and now I can't return it because I foolishly got rid of the packaging already. I am going to buy one of the old style 75 foot hoses just like the one I have, if it's still available, but this was a waste of money. If you are thinking of buying this hose, test it out immediately so you don't get stuck with a dud! ... show more

    • Bionic will NOT honor their Warranty

Do not rely on "guaranteed" warranty by Bionic. The hose worked well for a couple of months, but then began leaking in the middle of the hose, not at any connection. Emailed Bionic with proof of purchase. They asked for photos, which we sent, and they replied that replacement would be sent out immediately, and that we could check status online. But nothing happened. They never sent a replacement, and their online status system did not even recognize the order--so zero status. This was about 3 weeks from the original "confirmation" email from Bionic that the hose was on its way. So emailed them again, but Bionic would not reply at all. A couple of days later we called Bionic customer service number, and they said wait another 2 weeks (so 5 weeks total) and then call back if it doesnt arrive! Asked about why no email reply, and they said email again and we'd get a reply! Hopefully you won't need a replacement because Bionic warranty is a joke. ... show more

The non-kink aspect and the brass fittings of this hose are very nice, and it is lightweight and easy to move around. The shut-off valve is a nice feature which compensates for not being able to temporarily shut off flow as with a rubber hose by simply tightly bending/crimping it. However, due to its smaller-than-normal internal diameter, this hose has a smaller-than-normal flow rate. That makes it a poor choice for use with a sprinkler system or without a hose-end sprayer that relies more on pressure than volume. (The instructions say that it works best with a sprayer, but that fact isn't mentioned in the Amazon write-up.) The biggest drawback to this hose is that - despite the picture in the Amazon ad touting it as "Life Proof" by showing a car driving over the hose - it absolutely will not stand up to that kind of outside pressure. It permanently deforms the hose (see my photos) to drive over it with a car (Ford Escape) or even a much-lighter weight lawn tractor (Troy-Bilt), to the point that the flow is reduced. And unlike a top-quality rubber hose, which takes such abuse in stride (at a cheaper price), there is no way to cut and repair this hose once it's messed up. This hose was my first experience with a stainless steel water hose. I bought it as an experiment to see if this type of hose would work for me because it looks like it has some very nice features. I got the 100-foot length since my house is on 2 acres, and I needed a longer hose. I've used it for a week and was genuinely hoping that this hose would deliver, but it's turned out to be inadequate for my needs in terms of its flow. However, its inability to withstand being run over is what makes it totally useless for me, and I don't recommend it for anyone else. My experiment has shown me that this hose is definitely not worth what it costs, and I won't be buying any more. I'm reluctantly going back to my original rubber hoses because they can do what I need a water hose to do at a lower cost. ... show more

I would give this hose 10 stars if I could! I bought this hose to replace a 75’ good quality black hose that always tangled and the first several gallons were scalding hot in the FL sun. I am extremely happy with this stainless steel, easy to maneuver and light weight alternative and the excellent water pressure... I highly recommend this hose! ... show more

We now have 5 of them. It is so much easier to pull out and replace. We have a big yard and I wore myself out dragging that old rubber hose back and forth. Also, we had bought those shrinkable hoses they advertise and they fall apart when you pull on them. I had high hopes for this hose based on good reviews. I have used gently for about a month and now get an unwanted bath every time I use the hose. It is leaking where the spiral hose joins the metal collar. It took a while to identify the problem as there is a flexible black plastic cover over the join. This hose has not been subject to rough treatment or abused in any way. Totally unhappy with this product! ... show more

I purchased 2 of these hoses in August of 2019. After approximately 8 months, April 2020, the steel outer jackets started coming unwound in one of them. Then 2 weeks after I noticed the unwinding of the outer jacket I was using it to water flowers, I left it pressurized for about 15 minutes because I got called away. When I returned the hose had busted in the area where the steel outer jacket became lose. Before that issue this was an amazing hose. The other hose I bought is still holding up. I hope this was a defective hose and my other one stays working. I am going to try and file a warranty claim to see if they will replace it. ... show more
