The Torin AT830011LB-1 racing floor jack can be used for general or specialty use and features a 3 ton (6,000 lb.) load CAPACITY: With a lift range between 3-15/16" to 18-5/16", you can gain easy access under low-profile vehicles. It's constructed of durable, high-strength aluminum and steel. Dual piston quick pump allows you to easily raise the jack to the desired height. Decent jack, I have the 20-ton version. Using to move a large dead tree trunk. Lifts with relative ease. Recompressing the ram by hand load is not especially easy (generally true for all similar jacks), and you may need to bleed air out bottoming it out if you've pumped it at/past the max lift. To bleed, you need to "pinch" a rubber plug on the side of the jack while pressing down. Likely a non-issue under load, but something to mind if you try to retract ram by hand and it is not going all the down. ... show more

This is a good bottle jack - it does the job it advertises. I have two other Torin bottle jacks, and knew what to expect. I was going to buy a second 12 ton Torin jack, but when I saw this one temporarily drop to $29.99, free shipping, I bought this one instead. Note that these Torin jacks look a lot like jacks sold under other badges / names, and that is because many are made in the same factory and sold under different names.... I use this to jack up my RV (which is 16K pounds), and don't mind using a 20 ton to make sure I have "overkill". When I have to work under the RV without a tire on, and have the luxury of being in my driveway at home, I tend to have a lot of redundancy for safety measures - for instance, if I take a tire off one side, I use two bottle jacks and two jack stands under the frame in various locations to make 100% sure there will be no failure. Of course, I also chock the other wheels. I don't want to trust any one, or even two, components for failure when my life depends on it. When I am travelling, to save on weight and portability, I only carry the 12 ton with jack stands, and carry a block of wood or two for stability of the jack in case I am on gravel, dirt, etc. I am extra careful until I get a jack stand or two under it on the road, I don't have the luxury of concrete, multiple jacks on the road..... but it is still enough. One thing to be careful of on these Torin jacks (and other bottle jacks) - the pressure release screw on the bottom - it does not have a "stop" when you unscrew it, and it will allow you to keep turning it until hydraulic fluid comes leaking out. I know because when I asked my son to release the pressure and lower the jack, I looked over and saw he over loosened the nut on the bottom, and fluid was leaking out. So be aware that it only needs a couple of turns to release pressure, and it can be "over-loosened" to where fluid will leak. One thing that could be improved - a longer handle to jack up the car - the current handle is very short and Torin could provide an extra length or two so you don't have to reach under the car to jack it up. I bought the Torin Bottle Jack despite having read the critical reviews: 1) bleeding, 2) jack not lowering on its own when pressure is released. I have used the product once so far to rotate my tires on my Toyota Tundra. This product isn't like the typical floor jack you're used to. This Bottle Jack will take about 50-70 + pumps of the lever to jack the vehicle in the right position. At first I was pretty annoyed by this because I was used to a floor jack that elevated faster. But, I realized I paid for a $30 Bottle jack as opposed to $200 for a good quality floor jack. So I'm okay with that inconvenience. Also, this reaches a maximum height of about 15.5" which presented a slight problem for me because extending the jack to 15.5" inches at the lowest point on the frame didn't create enough space between the tire and floor after the vehicle was lowered slightly on the jack stand. So, I placed the bottle jack on top of two thin pallet boards, which alleviated the problem. This did not create a safety concern. In fact it helped two-fold, by also ensuring no dents were created in the ground surface . Regarding the concern about the jack not lowering on its own when pressure is released-- I did not find this to be a huge issue. Yes, there remains some pressure between the jack and the vehicle after the jack is lowered to its lowest possible point by the weight of the vehicle. But a little tug on the side handle pulled the jack out with no problem. And then, using a pallet board and my own body weight, I was able to lower the jack completely. Again, not an issue given that I was able to get two bottle jacks for $60 instead of one jack for $150-200, which gives me a lot more flexibility when doing routine maintenance on my truck. As for the bleeding issue. Others noted bleeding after first use. I have only used it once and didn't notice any bleeding yet. ... show more

I have had no problems with this jack so far. The paint does seem to come off, but it is no so much that I am worried. Bleed the jack and get some jack oil, this will work great. I have a regular floor jack which will lift fast as floor jacks do. I used this on a low car, first I raised it with the floor jack then used the bottle jack to raise the car even further, of course always use jack stands, this was done to install a new exhaust system. I recommend getting something to put on top of the bottle jack like a board or piece of metal to distribute weight, so you don't punch a hole through the bottom of your car or truck, I used an aluminum disc bought off of eBay. I included a photo of the bottle jack lifting an SUV to show it can lift a heavier vehicle. The top of the jack can be unscrewed to get closer to bottom of vehicle before lifting. Compared to a floor jack, yes bottle jacks are slow, but they are also cheaper and can lift as high to get the job done. So uless you run a garage where speed money, then this should be fine for you, and always use jack-stands. ... show more
