Right out of the box .. it was pre formatted and ready to go. I put a few small files on and ran some tests to be sure there were no issues. Everything worked well. So , I backed up several large video files (almost 2tb). Everything went as expected and now adding more to it daily. On average, it transferred about 300gb an hour. So far so good. This is probably one of the best bang for your buck storage options right now. Especially if you can catch it on sale. It is still working for now but I know referb drives can be hit or miss so your millage may vary.

    • Its quite a bargain for a 12TB drive.
It works well for a backup drive for my Linux PC. It comes with a 12v power supply and a 2' USB-C cable. inside is a Western Digital HGST HUH721212ALE604. SMART data says its new. The company mostly makes drives for XBox systems, but says this one is for Windows PCs.
