Rating: Highly Recommended Pros: No App required! Tracking function mostly works Well constructed unit Tripod mountable without additional adapter/hardware Stable Phone mount fits large phones Easy to use Setup is simple Remote works Cons: A little hefty Micro-USB ports on lights Tracking isn't perfect Panoramic function needs improvement Could use a tad more refinement No carrying case?! Lights could be more secure Ok, so why give it five stars when the con-list is that long? Well, the product isn't perfect, but it exceeded my expectations, and all for $40 (as of this review) it's a fantastic deal. First and foremost, no phone app required! This is a huge thing when so many simple devices are forcing phone apps that require you to create an account to use half the functions. Not this! Seriously, just turn it on and let it acquire your face and boom you're in business! It will track your movements with minimal lag, it's quite impressive. If it loses you, it will go into search mode to re-acquire you. I found that as long as I am within 3-4 feet, this device doesn't have any issue with acquisition and tracking. Once I get beyond 4 feet, it starts to have some issues unless there is a lot of ambient light. On that subject, the lights simply slot onto the wings of the phone stand. It's both simple and aggravating at the same time - I really wish there was at least a nub or something to keep them in place better. Additionally, the lights have a micro-USB port whereas the main unit has a USB-C port, a major oversight in overall design. Panoramic view is cool. With a simple press of a button the unit will slowly rotate 360 degrees. Then it will keep going until you turn the unit off. That's the main refinement that function needs, pressing the panorama button doesn't do anything, so the only way to get it to stop is to turn it off. Speaking of single buttons, the unit does come with a remote that conveniently sockets into the front of it. It connects via bluetooth and is a single button to either take a picture, or start/stop recording video. I did not test the remote function with other apps like Facebook or TikTok. I love the fact that they put a trip-pod nut on the bottom, which opens a whole world of possibilities beyond a "stable, flat surface". The overall design is great, even the phone mount that fit my OnePlus 9Pro with a case, and still had room to expand. The phone mount has 3 axis of articulation, so you can pretty much get that angle you desire. Lastly, the refinement I mentioned in the cons list is that while the phone mount does fold over to make the entire unit a little more compact, I believe it wouldn't be too much more complex to have the phone mount fold over and recess into the side. As it is, when folded it hangs kind of awkwardly on the side of the unit. Yes that is a lot of words on the cons, but it still exceeded my expectations. It fit my phone with case, it tracks decently well, the lights are neat, the operation is app-less and simple. Finally, I can make a video where I walk around explaining a product without needing an assistant to run the camera! Amazing that there is no setup. Just clamp your camera in the holder, stand in front of it and turn it on. It recognizes you and will rotate the camera to follow you around. The motion looked a little jerky, but the video looked good. When I went behind a wall, it re-acquired me when I came back in view. Really like the included detachable Bluetooth controller so can stop and start video from a distance. In the package there were two little white objects that were not mentioned in the instructions. Had to go back to the product description to see these are little lights. They weigh less than an ounce, but have varying brightness and color temperature plus they are rechargeable and despite light weight last an hour! This item basically delivers everything you want from it. The tracking works well (within certain limitations). The remote works well. And you can mount it on a tripod. The tracking is obviously the main feature for getting this, and yes, it does work. Only drawbacks are it does move slowly, you can't expect to be moving fast and have this thing whip across to follow you, and also you need to stay within a certain distance or else it loses the tracking completely. I would imagine neither of these will be a problem 99% of the time, but if you ever needed to use this from a long distance away, it might not be for you. The bluetooth remote lets you take pictures or turn on/off recording. And it has the ability to let you attach it to a tripod, giving you a lot more options on how you can use it. I opened the product and powered it on and as I begin to use it the tripod would not move on time and sometimes it did not move with me at all which is the point of this specific tripod. other then that I think this was a great invention and would have greatly impacted my content if it functioned properly. ... show more
