    • Most Comfortable Sandals Ever (and they're cute too!)

I'll be honest, when I used to think about Birkenstock sandals, the image of a stereotypical hippie popped into my head. But the Gizeh sandal has definitely altered my perspective on the brand. Not only are they ridiculously comfortable (I was on my feet for 8 hours straight in them and never felt so much as a twinge) but I get compliments on how cute they are all the time. I'm normally a US size 7 but Amazon recommended I size down to a 6 (37 M in EU) and I'm really glad I did - they fit perfectly. The Mocha color goes with pretty much everything I own and, since I first put them on, I haven't really worn anything else. These were well worth the money I spent on them and Birkenstock has earned themselves a loyal customer in me. ... show more

I wear a 12 wide so I love these birks because they accommodate my wide feet. Want to break them in. They mold to your feet and are very comfortable. The first few times you wear them. They are a little firm. It's generally not a good idea to get them wet frequently, but occasionally doesn't seem to do any harm.     • Break in period, OUCH!

So I had mixed feelings about these when they came. First of all, they are so cute, lightweight and perfect for summer. Second, breaking them in is very painful! The thong on the sandal is very hard and rubs uncomfortably when you walk. I debated returning them for this reason. I usually wear a size ten, but after reading reviews I decided to order the size 40 (9-9.5) These fit like a glove, but I almost felt like they were a tad too small width wise. Now keep in mind, all these complaints are still day one. The sole of the sandal is expected to be stiff until it forms to your foot, so keep that in mind. By day three, these started to feel comfortable and were not painful to wear. I also feel like my thoughts on them being " a tad too small" disappeared after the break in period. If you can deal with the break in period, these sandals are worth it. For those questioning authenticity, these are genuine Birkenstocks, made in Germany. ... show more

    • I can tell these will be comfortable
But like most Birks, are pretty stiff when you first put them on. It helps to bend and move them a little and it really helps to get them slightly wet and then wear them as they are drying. They are very cute and the part between your toes isn't as uncomfortable as I was thinking it would be. Your toes have to get sensitized if you haven't worn flip flops for awhile, I probably haven't consistently worn flip flops since my youth, quite awhile ago. They are the normal good Birk quality and will last for many years. I am pleased with these sandals and would recommend them to anyone. UPDATE: These shoes are SUPER good quality and very comfy, just as I thought. Two summers later and they still look pretty new and I wear them ALOT. They stretched very little and the part between your toes is holding up so beautifully. A lot of thongs rip that part if you go down a hill wrong or something, no way with these, never happen. ... show more

I have worn these for hours and yet they have not conformed to my feet. I think there is a defect. On the right, there is a bulging right at the top of the ball of my foot that hurts like a mother.

    • Comfortable and Stylish
Birkenstocks are possibly the most comfortable shoes. They're my go-to and can go with almost outfit. I wear them everywhere: my yoga class, the grocery store, and even to pick my kids up from school. Being a mom, I need shoes that are not only stylish but something that provides comfort and helps me get through the day. These sandals defiantly get the job done. The support that these sandals provide are amazing and I feel as if they're more comfortable than sneakers. I've had days were I've been standing or walking the whole time and my feet have never bothered me because these shoes are just that comfortable. The quality of these shoes is also amazing as they are made with high quality cork and leather and some of my pairs have lasted me years without looking damaged.
