I purchased an HP printer from Amazon in 5/23. Because of problems with printers in the past I decided to also purchase the Asurion protection plan. GOOD IDEA. The first HP printer I received did not work AT ALL from day one. It would not connect to my WIFI. With assistance from both HP and Asurion tech support I attempted to get it connected, to no avail, so I ended up exchanging it. The 2nd printer was a nightmare from the start. It did connect to my WIFI. That was the ONLY thing it did right. From day one it would not print more than one job at a time. If I attempted to print another job immediately after one, or a week later (it didn't matter), I would receive a message stating that the printer was "off line" or some other incoherent, incorrect messsage. After about 6 months and finally at the point of REALLY wanting to take a sledge hammer to the printer, I calmed down and called Asurion. Nice employees at Asurion didn't put me through "technical support" to drive me even more crazy, and told me to put the devil HP printer in a box, any box, with a note taped to it "for UPS", and put it outside my front door. I didn't believe it would be that easy, but the nightmare printer was picked up the next day, and later that day I received an email from Asurion with the # and link for an Amazon gift card to credit my account for the amount that I originally paid for the printer. ALL DONE WITHIN LESS THAN 24 HOURS FROM THE FIRST PHONE CALL TO BEING PAID IN FULL FOR THE EVIL (sorry, not sorry, HP) PRINTER. Asurion could not have made the transaction any easier, and kudos to them for running the return department like a well oiled machine. Asurion has knowledgeable employees who were patient and polite. I don't think I made their jobs very easy, at least at the beginning of the return procedures, due to my frustruation with the monster printer, not Asurion. I understand that Asurion normally refers customers to the technical department before returning an item, but they believed me when I explained to them that I had been unable to resolve the issue after months of technical assistance. All in all this was a very easy process once I found the correct Asurion phone number to call to make the claim. Asurion does, indeed, honor their contracts and makes it very easy, especially arranging for UPS to pick up my broken monster HP printer. I had been very ill with a fever of over 103 for a few days (but still trying to work from home) when I originally called Asurion, so I was immensely grateful for not having to take the HP printer to the UPS store to make the return.

I know everyone has their unique experience with Asurion, and I can see where a lot of people felt they were screwed over or that Asurion didn't do enough. My experience with Asurion is in between the middle to positive experience. When it came to replacing my 2018 MacBook Pro 15in, the process was simple... but the waiting period for replacement or payout took almost 8 weeks, which I thought was ridiculous and they never provided more than 1 offer for replacement device, but they paid out, and many options to pay out and that was also important to me because I was dealing with identity theft and fraud so I froze some accounts or closed/limited to a select few methods, and then it was instantly resolved. About a few months, I filed a claim on my motherboard that I purchased on Amazon over a year ago and got the Asurion extended warranty, and to be honest, I had no idea what to expect from what this warranty would cover if I had to file a claim and what was different between manufacturer warranty and Asurion coverage. Well, fast forward to today, and glad I had bought it. I had a power outage the other day while doing intensive media rendering, processing, and encoding that probably friend some part or component on the motherboard that no longer boot or post or give me any information on what could be wrong. I switched our the components and power supple with another working computer and the narrowed it to the motherboard being damaged. ASUS's warranty doesn't cover power surge, but Asurion does from the time you originally bought it. I filled a claim online and it was quickly processed and resolved and I got an Amazon gift card in the amount that was equal to the purchasing cost. I was thinking of getting another motherboard off amazon so it kinda worked out for me and Asurion resolved my claim in less than 24hours including sending me the gift card to my email immediately upon UPS receiving the motherboard and being sent to them. The insurance on the product worked out great when the product malfunctioned. The claim process was very easy, and the original amount was refunded within a week. I will always purchase the insurance when there is the possibility of the product wearing out too quickly.

I like the service but didn't want a refund and you don't refund the total cost including taxes. Doesn't matter why, the idea for a warranty service is to replace or refund...I will have paaid double taxes on my next purchase. But that is the only issue I'm really glad I have the Asurion coverage. It did come in handy this time round and I'm grateful.

I have purchased Asurion a few times - for piece-of-mind. Recently I had an ipad keyboard that couldn’t keep its charge. I contacted Asurion and I ended up returning the keyboard to them and received the full price (minus tax) of the keyboard as an Amazon credit. Contacting them and getting resolution was seamless. I was thankful to have this coverage.
