Should I Buy It?

  • Great purchase
Although this is not as good as a desktop computer, the overall performance is amazing. It can play most games with relatively good graphics and frames. You can go back and forth between graphic settings to adjust it depending on the game itself. For example, I am able to play Resident Evil remake 2 and 3 with steady 60-80 frames and great graphic settings. On the other hand, more demanding games such as Lords of the Fallen 2023 has to be in low settings so that I can play with around 50-60 frames. The battery itself lasts for around 2 to 4 hours depending on the game that you are playing such as metroidvania or AAA games. You do have to do some initial changes on the settings and bios for a better performance, but it is pretty simple since there are tons of guides for this. The screen quality and the controllers are amazing. You can use it as if it was a Nintendo Switch and detach the controllers and play in tabletop mode, however, you can't use them as 2 controllers like the switch can. Portability is great and comes with a hard travel case. Price is a little steep for some people, especially if you are trying to get into PC gaming. If so, I would suggest going for an actual desktop PC instead. However, having the portability and ease of use of wherever and whenever you want to its worth it. I play with my brother who lives in Mexico, whenever I go to visit him, I still take my Legion Go and can keep playing the same PC games with him in the same room. Overall, great experience and would 100% recommend this. ... show more

  • This thing rocks!
The Legion Go is great if your looking for a large, high definition gaming device that can be used around the house or in bed, without hogging the tv from your family. Software updates have been pretty frequent, and overall I find it fits my needs well as I am usually tethered while playing. The kickstand is a huge plus as it allows you to rest the console while playing without needing to hold it's weight. I upgraded the SSD to a 2tb unit which was simple, and also added a 1tb micro sd, which allows me to have a ton of AAA games and indie rogues. So if you are looking for the fastest unit, with the best biggest display, and wide compatibility between game launchers, this is the best. If you want mobility then go for the steam deck. ... show more

  • I love my Legion Go
I also have the steam deck, which I gave to my son, because I love my Legion Go. I have had no trouble with Windows 11. In fact, I'm thinking about updating my Windows 10 Alienware laptop to windows 11. The screen is gorgeous. It plays all my windows games. Battery life is ok but I usually use it plugged in or with a battery pack. ... show more

  • At least in the future handhelds PCs are great
The media could not be loaded. This thing is phenomenal. Its more powerful than what I expected. You do need to spend some time and tweak some things but its a great device. The FPS mouse controller aspect is not great but thats why I just use a mouse. Im in IT so maybe its easier for me to troubleshoot little issues. Think of it as a full fledge PC and that includes the complexity of windows. While Legion space looks like crap, I mostly ignore it but it functions just fine. The battery life is about an hour. Its comical but not surprising or a negative, its just part of the deal. If you want a more simple experience, go with the steam deck, if you want something that play’s everything and you can be productive with it. Get this skip the Ally. Editing to 5 stars. Lenovo has has tremendous communication with those who have bought this device(through reddit) and it continues to impress me. ... show more

  • Currently The Best Handheld PC
Plays most modern AAA titles (like Cyberpunk 2077, Starfield, Baldur's Gate 3, etc...) really well. I'm playing these games at the 1200p setting and usually get anywhere from 45+fps with upscaling enabled. Keep in mind this is a literal PC. If you boot up the device without updating drivers or fail to optimize the graphical settings, you will not have a good experience. It took me 30 minutes to update everything, and it helped a lot that I went into the AMD settings to customize the performance to my liking. The ergonomics will take a little getting used to, and overall the handheld form is ok. The trackpad is useful in both surfing Window's UI as well as in-game. Playing any CRPG that doesn't have controller support feels intuitive with the trackpad. You can also remap the buttons through the Legion Go launcher. At first, the Legion Go is not pick up and play like the Steam Deck. But with a few tweaks in the back end it definitely can be. In the context of picking up and playing out of the box, the Steam Deck is great with offering a console-like experience while the Legion Go is great at offering a handheld PC experience. 10/10, easily. ... show more

  • Love it
I work remote and I like Windows (yes, some people do like Windows, there are dozens of us!). The screen size is big enough to do work but small enough to fit in my messenger bag so I can work anywhere easily. Oh yea, I can play games too :) Is this for everyone? By all means no. But I love it. The screen size is nice and big compared to other tablets (Rog ally and steam deck), which I like. I was worried about the detachable controllers because the switch ones "wiggle", but these don't. The joysticks are full size and feel good. I personally like them better than xbox controllers. ... show more
